Greenpoint Digs!!

Apartment - Private room · Meeker Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, United States

The Space

Very well-appointed one bedroom apt with galley kitchen, bathroom, etc. Well-decorated and always very clean. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud...hard to get out of in the a.m. :)

***Please note that checkout is at 10am and I am willing to be flexible on this if you discuss your plans with me in advance***

There are plenty of blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Very, very clean apartment that is equidistant to the L & G lines. Walking distance to Williamsburg and a 10 mins ride on the L to Union Sq or 10 mins to Long Island City. Have internet, cable, on-street parking. (Its a short 8 min walk to either the G or the L.) Of course, there are buses (one on Meeker and one on Nassau) if you don't care for the walk. But hey, this is NYC--ya gotta strike the pavement with those heels some! :)

I am a graduate student so I am looking to rent to people who are responsible, reliable, and are not inclined to keeping very late hours (in or out). I am a very nice, accommodating and friendly guy that is very good at hospitality. Greenpoint is very quiet, safe, and quite quaint. Lots of cute spots here and *plenty* more (restaurants, cafes, shops, bars) in Williamsburg.

I do have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a very friendly and docile breed of dog, so if you have allergies or an aversion to animals, beware! Haha But he is a truly adorable little guy who is very friendly, does not bark at all, and is well-behaved. (I work from home most of the time, being a grad student, so he would have little opportunity to be mischievous.)

  • Samuel was a fantastic host. we had a unique situation because he was out of town during our stay, but he managed to keep in close contact and accommodate us with a very smooth and stress free booking. the place is extremely clean and comfortable. my girlfriend and I highly recommend it. it's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station and there's plenty of delicious food and cafes in the area. if you're into a more local experience of Brooklyn definitely a great place to stay. manhattan isn't far either.

  • No problems. Samuel was actually out of town and let me stay at his place. Very accommodating. He called and made sure I was settled in OK and pointed me in the direction of nearby places to check out. The apartment is very clean. About a ten minute walk to the subway to get to Manhattan. The place is on Meeker street so next to Brooklyn Queens Expy. Little extra noise from that, but didn't bother me. Great apartment.

  • Samuel was great and his apple tv is amazing. Even if I acted like an idiot with my terrible schedule. He accommodated me well.

  • Samuel kindly upgraded me to his bed which was very comfortable, lovely host who kindly included me when he made coffee in the mornings.
The apartment is about 15 min walk to either the L or G train. Travel to Byrant Park would be about 40 mins. Safe neighborhood, close to Williamsburg close to Brooklyn flea and other nice bars.
Stairs are narrow and apartment on 3rd floor without lifts so a bit difficult with a large suitcase, backpacks are not a problem though

  • Samuel was everything a great host should be: interesting, informative, and accommodating. Moreover, his apartment is spotless, tastefully appointed, and comfortable. The neighborhood, Greenpoint, is in a non-gentrified part of Brooklyn, so don't expect a Starbucks on every corner; however, there is a fantastic bar/restaurant (One Stop Beer Shop), bakery/coffee shop (Pie Corps), and park (McGorlick) within a two block radius. I can highly recommend staying with Samuel with one caveat: If you are a light sleeper, you might be bothered by the noise from the adjacent Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

  • Samuel is a great host with a really cool and cozy apartment.
The safe is in the living which is able to be closed for added privacy.
Samuel went out of his way to be a gracious host. It's a great on the budget and worth the stay.

  • Samuel was a great host. The place was very clean and comfortable, the dog cute as hell, and location was good for me. The BQE was bit noisy (I am a country boy used to total quiet), but on the other hand the free and convenient parking was fantastic. Thanks Samuel!

  • Fancy apartment in a nice neighbourhood, a 10 to 15 min walk away from next subway station. I definitely recommend staying there.
    Enjoy New York City!

  • I had a great second visit to Samuel's place. Same as before - comfy, well furnished, convenient. I've stayed there before and I'd stay there again. Recommended.

I am a graduate student studying Shakespeare, Milton, and other old dead white guys. I love some history or politics for alternate reading materials. The New York Times or The New Yorker are good to thumb through as well. Recently became obsessed with both White Collar and Revenge. Enjoy Hitchcock films and other cinematic oldies. Oh, and wine...yup, wine is necessary!
