Satis Beach House is a relaxing and comfortable log cabin in the charming seaside town of Aireys Inlet. Our house is on the ocean side of Australia's famous Great Ocean Road, just around the corner from the beach. Living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with leather couches, dining table and chairs, a well stocked bookshelf, TV/DVD and CD players.
The three bedrooms house a queen sized bed in the main, a double in another and bunks in the third bed room. There is a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a separate toilet near the laundry alcove. Our holiday house is set up for beachside living with a canoe, life jackets and paddles, boogie boards, games and books for your enjoyment.
In the large, sheltered garden there is a BBQ, a Weber, a long teak table and driftwood chairs and benches, and plenty of space for a game of boules. An insect proof gazebo with a marble topped table and chairs is perfect for hot summer nights. Our garden is private, fenced and treed with a variety of native birds frequenting it.
The house is great for up to six people, no more. A minimum booking is for two nights but on long weekends we prefer three nights. A late check out may be available in the quieter times. During the summer holidays, preference will be given to a weekly booking or a minimum of at least five nights. During Easter, preference is given to a booking of four or more nights.
Linen is not provided (see house rules).
The beautiful beach, ever changing inlet and coastal walks begin just around the corner. What we lack in sea views, we make up for in close proximity to everything - to the surf beach, inlet and rock pools, cliff top and Surf Coast walk, to Split Point Lighthouse, the skate park, shops, cafes and gourmet restaurants and the famous Aireys Pub. A beach walk will bring you to the fantastic Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club. Newly reopened with brilliant views, excellent bar prices and great food, this is a wonderful asset for the community in many ways. All visitors are most welcome.
Nature lovers can stroll along the river or bicycle or canoe down the valley to the rainforests of the Great Otway National Park. From there you can hike through the rainforest, smell the mint bush and the wattles, admire the wild flowers and the crazy gang gang cockatoos, breathe fresh air.....horse ride, hang glide or just hang out.
The Great Ocean Road is justly famous for spectacular views and beaches, rainforests, wildlife, bushwalking, restaurants, art galleries, markets and bookshops, and sports including surfing, swimming, snorkelling, cycling, running, golf, tennis, fishing and kayaking.
We invite you to Satis Beach House to experience Australia's fantastic Great Ocean Road.
Interaction with Guests
The house will be all yours and you will have total privacy. There is a keycode box for checking in and out at your convenience. We will be accessible by email, airbnb and phones to answer any questions, give advice or just to say hi.
“For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea.”
e e cummings
The bus stop is very close and the Great Ocean Road buses link to the Melbourne train via a connection at Geelong Station.
Optional extra: As a traditional Australian beach house, we do not normally supply sheets, pillow cases and towels and ask you to bring your own. We always include doonas and doona covers, pillows (not pillow cases) and extra blankets as part of the normal rates. Please bring your own sheets (two per bed) and pillow cases, bath, hand and tea towels and a bathmat. And beach towels in summer, of course! If you wish to have all linen and towels supplied, there is an extra cost of $20 per person per stay to be left at the house.
We prefer a minimum three night stay on the long weekends of Australia Day, Labour Day, Queen's Birthday, Anzac Day and the Melbourne Cup weekend, and Easter is a four night minimum. We prefer a seven day booking over the Christmas holidays but will accept a five night minimum if there are vacancies.
Special rates of 10% discount for bookings over a week, and a late check out may be available in the quieter times. We ask that you hold no parties here and do not have extra people staying. If you wish to discuss your situation we are very happy to review individual circumstances.
Strictly no smoking in the house thank you.
Please leave the BBQ clean. Please leave our house as you found it, put the keys back in their respective places and enjoy your holiday by the sea.
And thank you for choosing to stay at our place!
We had a wonderful stay in Airey's. Fiona was very informative and the house is well equipped and a close walk to beach and shops. It was a great base to explore great ocean rd.
We loved our stay at Fiona's beach house. It was in a great location, opposite a few shops (excellent pizza !) and within a short walk to the lighthouse and coastal walks. The house itself had everything we needed, nice and toasty heater and very cool furniture in the loungeroom. There was lots of space outside in the yard and we loved the gazebo. Fiona provided a lot of information about various spots to eat and enjoy in the local area and was quick to communicate. We would definitely stay here again.
It was a great vacation. We had everything we need, the house was welcoming, clean, well equipped, great location!
Fiona was very friendly, informative and prompt in responding to queries. The place was exactly as described and presented - very comfortable, close to everything and well appointed with kitchen/dining equip, books, games etc. We would be very happy to return.
We had a really lovely, relaxing weekend at Fiona's place, great location within walking distance to all the good spots. Thanks for having us :)
Fiona's house was the cherry on the cake to our getaway. My friends and I were all enchanted by the super cosy wooden interior and all its quirky decor. The house is situated in a perfect location too, with fish and chips opposite and the beach around the corner. We couldn't have found a more perfect place for our getaway. Fiona is a fantastic host despite us never meeting in real life. She was extremely accommodating in extending our check out time and providing detailed suggestions on what to do in Aireys. I highly recommend that you stay at Fiona's lovely house.
Two semi retired teachers and farmers who enjoy wide open spaces and near self sufficiency. Our beach house on the Great Ocean Road is a contrast to our life on the farm. We feel blessed to be able to spend time at both.
Satis Beach House is comfortable, quirky and just around the corner from a beautiful surf beach, estuary and cliff top walks along the coastline of southern Australia. Excellent cafes, restaurants, bookshops and galleries add to the coastal mix at Aireys Inlet.
We are looking forward to adding another listing in early 2015. This is a cute one bedroom apartment in East St Kilda, Melbourne. A little bit retro and a little bit luxe, and a lot of fun. And with a beautiful garden and a car space. We are giving it a make over for us, and for anyone who wants to stay a while in this very cool suburb. Please contact us if you would like to know more about staying in our fully furnished apartment for a month or longer.
Enjoy our beach cottage and don't forget to walk to the lighthouse at dawn, or put your toes in the water no matter what the temperature...........
