Open, spacious and sunny vacation home. Start your morning by drinking coffee by the koi pond, listening to the waterfall and breathing in that island salt air.

Full kitchen, beach chairs, beach bag/cooler and beach towels provided, along with free kayaking or paddle boarding with Island Spirit Kayak!

One mile from town and a 10 minute bike ride to the beach. This is the perfect location for access to Oak Bluffs restaurants, outdoor recreation and a peaceful neighborhood.

The space
This home was built in the early 1970's. All the areas have been renovated, but it still has original charm, beautiful cathedral ceilings, tons of natural light from the two large skylights and a lot of love.

You will find original artwork made by Chick's mom, a third generation island ceramist. Hand painted island wildflowers, an island map and the kitchen backsplash of Vineyard grapes have all been hand painted and designed for this space.

Frogs may serenade you at night, either the bull frogs from the pond or the Pinkletinks nearby. Even though we are close to town this unique private space is surrounded by trees, hanging flower baskets and at a dead end road, making it feel quiet, yet convenient.

The kitchen is spacious, stocked and has a brand new dishwasher! (Yes, even on vacation a dishwasher is necessary). There is a ton of natural light through the two skylights on the vaulted ceiling and the french doors.

A special reading nook with hand carved teak panels is a special place to relax, unless of course you're watching a foosball tournament unfold with your family. We have games, cards, a cribbage board, books and coffee. The necessities.

The master bedroom is set with a comfy KING bed, fresh white linens and a full closet. The room has many windows that are filled with trees for privacy, but still allow natural light. The second bedroom has two twin beds, and is set up perfectly for kids to relax and play. This bedroom can also be used for 2 adults.

The large covered porch is the spot to be all year round! Set up the projector for an outdoor movie night while you lean back in your rocking chairs. Right next to the porch is a beautiful koi pond. This is the best spot to lean back and relax with a glass of wine and watch the fish and frogs!

In the main living space you will find a large dining room table that seats eight and can expand to seating for twelve, perfect for entertaining and family dinners. The dining room also connects to a cozy living room, where you will find two couches, two swivel chairs and a TV.

The bathroom has been fully renovated and offers a beautiful walk in shower, wall mount faucet and complimentary amenities.

We hope you can enjoy your vacation face to face with your friends and family.

But don't get stuck in the house! The Vineyard is an amazing place to play! Your hostess Chick, will be happy to set you up with free kayaks or paddle boards right on State Beach! Enjoy the island as you should, from the water!

Chick Stapleton founded Island Spirit Kayak in her hometown on the island of Martha’s Vineyard in 2000. After graduating Boston University she worked as a bartender at Lola’s by night and as a kayak instructor by day. Her dream of being Julie from the Love Boat combined with a passion for paddling made introducing others to the beauty of the Vineyard from the water, the perfect combination. Chick is excited to host others and help them experience her home in her favorite ways!
