Car Free (discounts for Amtrak tickets). For Channel Islands National Park kayak visits with Channel Islands Outfitters, day trips hiking with Island Packers out of Ventura Harbor.
The city of Santa Barbara no longer allows me to use my guest pass for Airbnb guests. There is 90 minute parking in front of the apartment that is enforced from 10:30am until 6pm. There is an unlimited parking map in the apartment that directs you where to park in a 2 block radius. It is a safe residential area and walking is fantastic everywhere. (It is still necessary to MOVE YOUR CAR for street sweeping on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am - 12pm)
WELCOME TO AIRBNB! You are going on vacation in a neighborhood...! Not in a tourist corridor that is some what controlled. It's like you've moved into your own house for your stay, so the things that make you a good neighbor at home apply here. Please be considerate and respectful and let your host know (think of your call to me as calling the front desk at a hotel...) if something is going on before you write in in a review so it can be resolved for all the future guests!!

4. NO SMOKING! Smoking is not permitted on the property.
5. CONSERVE- Please recycle and conserve water where ever possible. (No baths, we are in serious drought, driest here in recorded history!)
6. THE CITY SWEEPS THE STREETS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAYS. (Tuesday night and Wednesday night you must park right side of the street.) Please park consciously, maximize the parking spaces on the street by pulling right up to the red curb. SEE THE PARKING MAP HANGING BY THE FRONT DOOR!
7. COOK! The kitchen counter is wood block that is NOT designed to be cut on. There are two big cutting boards for your use.
8. NOTICE: Please dry any water that gets onto the bathroom floor. It's an old building and sitting pools of water has a way of getting into it's "bones" and causing problems.
9. BEFORE YOU GO: Turn off the heat? Sign the guestbook? Get your charging cords? PLEASE let me know if something isn't working or got broken asap, it helps so much. Often times I don't learn this until I have another guest walking in the door! Muchas gracias!!

I loved it. The place felt like home to me. Too short of a stay but we can always come back.Cathy is a wonderful host and I was glad I had a chance to meet her. The neighborhood is simple but felt very safe.
We could walk to Paseo Nuevo and all the restaurants etc also the harbor and city beach.
Cathy's place was perfect for our SB stay. The location could not have been better, as we were only a short walk away from the main action on State Street. The apartment was very quaint and comfy, with all we needed for our stay and certainly more room than any other hotel accommodations you can find in downtown Santa Barbara. Everything was wonderful, thank you Cathy!
Great apartment! The location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk to State Street where all the shops and restaurants are. The apartment was very clean and everything we needed was provided. However, there were some ants in the apartment. We told Cathy the night we arrived that there were some ants and just the next morning she came by to drop off some ant traps. We could notice that the next night most of the ants were gone. Cathy was always available when we needed her help.
Cathy was a very friendly, considerate and responsive hostess. The location of the cottage was close walking distancing to State St. in downtown SB. The space was clean, roomy and comfortable. I enjoyed the cute kitchen and the thoughtfulness put into the space. There is a great little cafe a block or so away that makes fresh juices and matcha tea. Thanks for the great stay! :)
Cathy was very welcoming and super helpful. The one time we had a query she replied to our text straight away and was available to help, she also always replied straight away when we got in touch with her to confirm arrival/ departure.
The flat is lovely! Perfect for our stay - two people. You will be in walking distance from the beach, the clock tower, the mall, and all the lovely and interesting shops, restaurants and side streets downtown. Great street and area, felt very safe. Found a place to park easily... Everything you need is in the flat - we made dinner there twice, so the kitchen is great, and there's a lovely living room area and outdoor table and chairs.
Overall - definitely recommend! You'll be sure to enjoy your stay.
Great experience. Cathy has thought of it all. It was our home away from home, highly recommend. The location is perfectly situated and walking distance from everything. Truly a gem.
The apartment was clean and in a walking distance to downtown Santa Barbara. It is quite big and it looks exactly like in the picture. Cathy made sure we had everything we needed and helped when we had questions what to do. We had a great dinner at Casa Blanca that Cathy recommended.
