Great Downtown Location!

The Space

Just two blocks to Paseo Nuevo, Santa Barbara's colorful shopping mall and State Street, this apartment is located close to all the great food (farmers market, Silvergreens and a brand new Eureka Burger! - across from Silvergreens :) and entertainment Santa Barbara has to offer...on foot! It is a location where you can come with out a car and rent one 4 blocks from Enterprise if needed. One block to the city bus stop, 2 blocks to hop the $.50 electric trolley on State Street, rent bikes or walk 8 blocks to Stern's Wharf, the Santa Barbara Harbor and all the beautiful beaches that stretch our coastline (6 blocks from the train station).

The apartment is one in a residential fourplex in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. It has hardwood floors and is decorated with modern decor to create a cozy and clean bright space for your stay. We do have a two night stay requirement at this apartment, max. 2 guests, queen bed only (no couch sleeping-quiet hours 10pm-7am).

Comfortable with a living room, bedroom (queen bed), kitchen (coffee and tea) and full bathroom, we offer wi-fi for your wireless device and a docking station for your Mp3 player, books and games - NO TV. Coin laundry is on site and there is ample on-street parking available in-front of the apartment and a parking pass in the unit to put in your car when you arrive. The price includes a 12% city bed tax** and there is minimal cleaning fee. Please read the house manual when you arrive to help us both have a great rental experience.

Our family loves to travel and we have hosted students from all over the world in our home here in Santa Barbara. We have managed property for 20 years, done home exchange and vacation rented our own home when we travel. My husband is Canadian and we met doing what we love, being active and traveling! We look forward to welcoming you and recommending the best of the best adventures here in the beautiful California central (website hidden)- If you see a one day vacancy and you only need one night, don't hesitate to contact me about booking it.

pss- there is a hair dryer for your use in the bathroom, iron in the closet :) Take a bag to the store with you, new SB ordinance! Grocery bags cost $.10 each, no more plastic here :)

psss- The walls (ceiling) are thin at this property. If you are a light sleeper or want to sleep in, bring ear plugs. Be forewarned that it's an old building! 99% of the time the place is silent from 10 pm to 7am. Sweet dreams!

**The 12% Transient Occupancy Tax which we pay to the City of Santa Barbara to support their clean creeks programs and other city
operations and infrastructure.

  • Everything about this location was true!! It is truly a beautiful place and we walked to the wedding at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. We walked to State Street and either walked up and down the street or took the Electric Trolley. Great place and the amenities were excellent!! Definitely would like to stay here again!!! Thank you, Cathy, for your hospitality!!!

  • The apartment was just what my husband and I needed for our short stay in Santa Barbara. It is in a great location only a few blocks from State Street and very easy to walk there and to the beach. The apartment is well equipped and we especially appreciated being able to use the laundry machine. Cathy was very friendly and responded to all communications very quickly.

  • This studio apartment was exactly what my husband and I needed out of our Santa Barbara stay. It is very close to downtown: we walked downtown each day! You can see Paseo Nuevo from the house!
The house itself was very tidy, clean, and surprisingly spacious. It would be perfect for a weeklong stay, although we only stayed for three nights. Parking was never an issue as there was always a street spot available.
There were firm and soft pillows available, plenty of books and games, and lots of clear instruction on various things in the house.
We left feeling happy and refreshed, wishing it were our own!
If you do stay for a while, just note that the kitchen does not have a full oven, just a toaster oven!

  • Cathy was very friendly and helpful and let us know about a parade we might want to check out during our stay in Santa Barbara. The apartment was SO adorable—we LOVED staying here :) Very charming, clean, and comfortable. And the location was perfect—a short walk to State Street, a grocery store nearby, and not much farther to the marina and the beach (and only a driveway away from a river full of frogs singing all night!). If we could we would stay here every time we travel this way (about once a month), but unfortunately we're obliged to stay elsewhere most of the time.

  • Cathy's place was fantastic. A short walk from all of the action on State Street, and tons of good shopping nearby. Neighborhood was nice, apartment was very well decorated and had everything you might need for a weekend getaway. Definitely eat at Silvergreens, it is 4 blocks away and you won't regret it.

  • We really loved staying at Cathy's place. Extremely easy to find and get into once we were there. Very comfortable inside. Good Internet access. Clean and homey. Our daughter graduated from UCSB but is thinking of going back for a Master's. If so, we will definitely come again!

  • Very clean and cozy apartment perfect for a couple visiting the city. The bed is incredibly comfortable. We did not have a car and were able to walk to everything we wanted to see.

  • We had a great time in Cathy's apartment. It's nice and cozy and very close to all the shops and restaurants on State St. There is also a Ralph's nearby where you can get everything you need. We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back one day. Thanks for hosting us, we can definitely recommend this place.

  • Cathy was so helpful and responded very quickly to any of our questions. The apartment is in a great location (only a few minutes walk from the main shopping streets) and had everything we could possibly need in it.
Really were very pleased that we stayed here!

  • We had a great time in Santa Barbara. The appartment is exactly as described. It is very clean and cosy with all the nice decorations. The location is just perfectly situated. 3 minutes to State Street and approx 15 to the wharf / Beach. Cathy is a great host. We did not meet personally but the whole communication from sending the request till our stay was always just perfect. Appreciated that very much. I highly recommend the appartment to everyone spending a few days in SB.
