I'm happy to open my small but comfortable and lovingly furnished studio to you on your visit to Portland. This is the perfect space for two. I'm usually able to be quite flexible and accommodating with guests, so please shoot me a message!
Very charming alcove studio belonging to a local designer -- furnished with mid-century / naturalist decor, a sleek kitchen with modern appliances, stacks of wool blankets, a cozy patio, and all the comforts of Portland living. Be OK with cats as I have a very friendly Sealpoint Birman who is low mantinance but loves a good cuddle.
Readily available street parking in a quiet neighborhood just off of Alberta Street which offers great food and coffee and all the rad parts of Portland life.
One of Portland’s oldest neighborhoods, the Alberta Arts District has seen a revival as a thriving community with a diverse blend of cultures. Spend the day getting familiar with the many coffee shops, galleries and independent art studios, as well as fashionable boutiques and top-rated restaurants. Visit on the last Thursday evening of any month to experience the street-party atmosphere of the neighborhood’s art gallery walk.
Many more photos and information available, just get in touch!
Guests have full range over the studio as well as their patio and shared laundry facility.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to let guests have as much space as they need, often with just a quick hello and shake of the hands. I also leave helpful maps, magazines, and guides to the neighborhood and Portland metro area.
Though my street is quiet and calm, I'm just a block away from a street filled with activity.
Bikes are the best way to get around the neighborhood! I'm just down the street from a great rental shop.
House rules are fairly simple. I like to meet guests when they arrive to show them the place and answer any questions. This usually only takes about 10-15 minutes before I wish you a happy stay and get out of your hair.
Bowen s place was tasteful and organized. The neighborhood was quiet but still a lot going on. Walking distance to good coffee and restaurants. Birch the cat was lovely and treated us nicely. I would recommend anyone for a short stay in Portland.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a wonderful time staying at Bowen's place. Great location, quiet, comfortable design and Birch was great company. I couldn't recommend the place, and Bowen's hospitality more.
Birch is the BEST cat you will ever meet. He is an amazing host, and made me feel welcome and happy right away. I will definitely stay at his place again, it made Portland feel like home!
Bowen is great too. Gave me all the comforts and info I needed to have a seamless stay. The location is perfect- highly walkable yet not in the epicenter of things.
Their place is gorgeous, cuter than the pics suggest. It is the largest feeling studio I have ever been in. If you stay here you won't be disappointed.
My girlfriend and I couldn't have been happier with Bowen's place for a long Portland weekend. Perfectly located and brilliantly designed/decorated. While it is a studio, it felt much larger. While we didn't get to meet Bowen, he was very communicative leading up to the stay, came through with a great recommendation and made getting into the place extremely easy. Birch (the cat) was an awesome welcome party and a great hang. Needless to say, we look forward to a return visit. Thanks, Bowen.
Bowen, though we never met in person, was extremely helpful and really accessible and responsive by phone. He left thorough instructions on how to get into the apartment, and once inside, he had left us a bottle of wine and a charming oasis to call home for our stay in Portland. The pictures don't even do it justice - the studio looks like a Pinterest board come to life. Every nook has an artistic touch, and the place just makes you feel at home. Plus, Birch was the best (cat)host. He was incredibly friendly and low maintenance, and we were sad to say goodbye to the little guy. We'd definitely come back and stay again.
The place is perfect.
Like I said in the guest book... We had loads of things planned for the few days we had in Portland but ended up spending one day inside playing the piano, making pie and chilling.
Perfect place to stay. Felt like home.
Bowen was ace too.
I'm an art director and set stylist for film and photography. I've got a cat named Birch and a lust for the outdoors. It shows in my home which is a cozy cabin-like place with a rustic decor and collections from my frequent wanderings.
