We stayed here in Jan 2015. Jorge is an excellent host. He prepared a breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, croissants and coffee for us daily. What a nice way to start the day! Off of our large bedroom was an expansive balcony with views of the street and church nearby. The bells of the church are loud but we got used to it after a while. We also had access to the living area downstairs and a back yard. Jorge was helpful with suggesting restaurants and things to do in Salta. He is an exceptional host.
Jorge and his wife were very welcoming and friendly hosts. The breakfast each morning included a fresh fruit salad, which we really appreciated! The rooms are dated, but very spacious, and they work well in terms of privacy and family (we rented both rooms, as we were traveling with our children and wanted a little space to ourselves -- each room has its own bathroom, and we we kept our bedroom doors open, so we felt "connected", but still had a sense of privacy. If we were renting just one room and there were other guests, it would still be private enough. An excellent layout that way.)
Location is great -- easy walk to anywhere in the city, and the bus terminal is only about 5 blocks away. One word of caution would be that the house is right across the street from a convent. Really neat, historical location, but if you prefer NOT to have a 5:45 a.m. wake up call of about 25 rings of the big bell, I recommend renting the "back" room (our kids did not really hear the bell, and slept through, but we in the front room were woken up each morning, hehe).
Host was very accommodating in terms of breakfast times, as well as allowing me to use the common space for an online interview via (website hidden) I had one morning of our stay -- the internet was better in the dining room, and so we turned the dining room table into my own private "office" for an hour. (Still waiting to hear if I got the job, hehe.)
Excellent host, great location for travels in the area, super value for the price. We'd stay again for sure!
We had a very nice stay at Jorge.
He was easy to reach and available to do a late check in.
We did not stay in his house as it was full but he guided us to another apartment a block away.
The apartment is very nice with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.
The area is very nice and ideal to discover Salta.
It was very safe and had a little courtyard.
The only negative thing was that there was no wifi but a part from this it was very nice
I would recommend staying there
I highly recommend staying at Jorges B&B. We really enjoyed our stay there. There are only two rooms and the atmosphere is very personal, especially because Jorge takes very good care of his guests. He helped us a lot with recommendations regarding restaurants and things to do and we really enjoyed chatting with him while having breakfast. The breakfast is nice as well, our room was very spacious with a big terrace. The street is pretty quiet and its only a short walk to the main square of Salta! I would definitely stay at Jorges place again!
