Experience Provincetown as it should be: filled with fun, history & summer-camp charm. This quirky but comfortable apartment sits in the center of town and features a deck overlooking Commercial St. Please see below re: July & August bookings!
(Please see minimum rental periods and rates at bottom of this description. During the months of July and August, we ONLY rent week to week, from Saturday to Saturday.)
This apartment is not your traditional “granite countertops” rental space, but a sun-filled, games-filled, summer-camp-like beach house. The 150-year old building has charm, character and history (and the scuffs to prove it). Over the years, it’s been home to a rope maker's workshop, an auto mechanic's garage, a flower shop, an antique store and a cheese market.
The owners are Provincetown residents who'd be happy to help you figure out how to spend your time in town.
-Two beds that comfortably sleep four people (1 queen and 1 full)
-Full bathroom with shower
-Large furnished deck overlooking Commercial Street with small grill
-Hammock to be used for lounging
-Two air conditioners and baseboard heat. You can see photo and explanation of AC units in the photos above
-Beach access on the property
-Access to kayaks
-Dart board, games, beach items, easel
-Cape Cod-themed books and guidebooks
Other things to know:
-Please see photo of the kitchen -- it is not a "proper" kitchen. We provide a fridge, coffee maker, hot pot, dishes, flatware, grill and grill utensils, but there is no kitchen sink, oven or stove. This should work for anyone planning on making simple meals, grilling out, and dining out. But it won't be the right fit for someone looking to prepare home-style meals. Guests can bring dishes downstairs to be cleaned in the restaurant.
-Apartment is on the second floor of the building, which houses a casual restaurant called The Canteen on the first floor. The restaurant is open from 11 am to 11 pm.
-The owners live in the building (adjacent apartment) and own the restaurant below.
-Apartment is one large open space with curtains that can be pulled to separate the bedroom from the rest of the space.
4 people max (please ask if more)
Not suitable for small children

Interaction with Guests
We live and work in the building but go about our own busy lives! We are usually around somewhere in the restaurant if you have any questions.
Our apartment is located in the center of town, steps away from restaurants, stores, shows, beaches, whale watching, and historical sites. There's no better people watching in the world than on Commercial Street during the summer.
All of Provincetown is accessible on foot or bike.
Other Things to Note
Many people ask about the noise level. Here's my best answer: Although the apartment is on Commercial Street and above a restaurant, we haven't had a complaint about noise during our 4 years of renting out the space. Don't expect the apartment to be monastery-like, but the noise doesn't seem to travel up to the apartment.
The apartment is best suited for 4 people max and isn't well suited for small children. No smoking inside please. We live right next door, so we expect our guests to be respectful, but we also understand that most people don't rent an apartment in the center of Provincetown to quietly read a book during the day and be in bed by 10 pm!
We had a great experience at Rob's place. The location was perfect and the apartment had a lot of charm. We would gladly stay again and highly recommend it for anyone traveling to the area.
I am a frequent PTowner, I go at least 8 to 10 times a year, and that in mind I do not own a place so I am always looking for a great deal and great location. This place is EXACTLY as its described and it literally couldn't have a better location. Love going to Tea? Its a 5 min walk. Love the A-House? Its across the street. Love AMAZING food? Umm the best place in town is down stairs (the fish sauce Brussels Sprouts are out of control good). Looking for a place for Carnival? This IS the place to rent. Rob an Loic were the most gracious hosts, they greeted us at the door and not only extended themselves in person but checked in with us mid way through our stay to ensure we were having a great experience. I highly recommend this place and Rob and Loic I will 150% be back!
We set out to find a quite little place away from NYC and we totally found it! We had heard how happening of a spot Ptown is in the summer months but we were thrilled to find so much character even in a snowy winter weekend! Rob and Loic's place was a dream come true! After a cold day spent running over frozen sand dunes we came back to relax in the hammock and found ourselves playing bored games and throwing darts the whole night! We didn't even notice the town was a little empty because we had such a great time relaxing in this spot!
Rob and Loic were perfect hosts. Their place was exactly as described and pictured, and they were extremely accommodating. We stayed there in the middle of January (during a blizzard!) and they checked in with us a few times throughout to make sure we didn't need anything. They shoveled snow on the deck for us, offered the stove in their adjacent home to us (the rental doesn't have one), and even offered to pick up provisions for us while they were out running errands! We had prepared in advance for the cold weather and lack of stove (we brought plenty of no-cook food and there were still a few local restaurants open as well), so we declined their offers -- but the fact that they were so thoughtful and concerned with our comfort is more than enough to bring us back again in the future!
We LOVED staying here. The location is awesome and the apartment is so fun! We painted a photo, played darts and cards and also hung out in the hammock. Was truly a great getaway for the weekend and Rob was a really flexible and lovely host. Would def. stay here again in a heartbeat.
Rob and Loic were very flexible with our arrival time. After giving us a tour of the home and answering any questions we were told to contact them with any issues, which we did not have. The house matches the pictures and is in a prime location in the center of town. No complaints, we will definitely be going back!
Rob and Loic's place was perfect and made for a great getaway weekend for my wife and I. The location was amazing, the accommodations are exactly as shown in the pictures, and there were a ton of fun novelties around the space that made our stay all the more interesting. We will definitely be back, next time in the summer.
Hi there! I'm a restaurant owner from Provincetown, Massachusetts. My partner Loic and I rent out the space above our restaurant, The Canteen. When we're on the road, it usually has something to do with friends, food or furniture. Probably all three. Rob grew up in the Midwest, and has the manners to prove it. Loic (low-eek) grew up in France, but, strangely, doesn't really have the accent to prove it. We've had great experiences hosting and traveling through AirBnB.
