The apartment is on the 5th floor (the last) of the building at No. 4 Abades street. Placed within the historical center of Madrid, this building dates from 1849 and is the highest around, so you have fantastic views of the south of Madrid. Due to be protected, the property has no lift.
The apartment was renovated less than a month by a experienced decorator with many design details. Is noteworthy in particular the kitchen, with a countertop of solid pine wood and a pile of marble and the bathroom with a shower of 1.70 m slate, rain-like difussor and a floor of restored ancient tile.
The apartment is an attic with exposed beams and is fully equipped with air conditioning, full kitchen (hob, extractor, cupboards, sink and drainer), washing machine, a double bed futon sofa and a large L-oriented main window that can also be converted into a comfortable double bed.
Internet access by wifi/ethernet is available with 10Mb bandwidth DSL connection.
It has 35m2 , distributed in a large room where a bed, kitchenette and living area and, on ther other hand, a wide bathroom. It has plenty of light as it is on the top floor of the tallest building around and have 4 natural light spots, among which is remarcable a large window with those fantastic views mentioned (see pictures to understand better =)
About the situation, it is placed next to Plaza Tirso de Molina, 10 minutes walk from the Huertas street with all its bars and 12 min of Sol square, 20 minutes walk to Chueca and near the neighborhood of Lavapies, a cosmopolitan and vibrant is in full revival of culture and leisure. You will find several metro stations with different metro lines very close (Lavapiés, Embajadores, Tirso de Molina, Sol, etc.) and not far from the train station of Atocha.

Jaime is a very friendly guy who professionally rents out this tiny attic close to the center of Madrid. It's a clean & cosy place with a small kitchen-corner (basic dishes, a small fridge and a stove are available). The interior offeres some lovely individual details. We enjoyed 3 nights (and 3 mornings with yummy-breakfast on the 0.5m² "micro-terrace") at Jaime's and we can definitely recommend the place.
Communication prior to and including stay was top notch from Jaime.
The apartment is very easily to navigate to from the nearest Metro line, further to this check in was a breeze. The location of the apartment is excellent, walking distance to most places and as noted very close to a metro for airport and longer distance city trips. Would definitely stay again when in Madrid.
In January/February, I stayed just over a month at Jaime’s apartment. It was wonderful! Perfectly located. I didn’t use public transportation at all, as I was able to walk everywhere easily. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, and has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and the washing machine is a real plus. Arrival was a breeze – Hector was very helpful in getting me the keys and showing me around the place – and Jaime was always very quick to respond to emails. All in all, a great visit! (Except, I suppose, for the guy downstairs, who has very loud sex pretty frequently!) Highly recommend, and I would absolutely stay here again when in Madrid. Thanks, Jaime!
Amazing apartment right in the city center of Madrid! Jaime was really helpful for the organization of our trip and the place was beyond expectations with a real charm and comfort!
This is a comfy little spot in Madrid, just near the Tirso De Molina metro stop. My girlfriend and I really liked it. The views are just amazing from the windows!
I'd recommend staying here for sure.
Nice apt, very clean. a great place to stay. The stairs were a bit annoying but not a big deal. We arrived a few hours early but were able to arrange picking up the keys without any problem. Would stay again without doubt.
Spent a great time in Jaime's apartment! Clean, nice furniture and view from the window, good wifi... in short, everything needed for a short stay. Also, its great location: near tube station Tirso de Molina if you want to explore Madrid; if you want to walk, from here, go left and you have Plaza Mayor and many restaurants; go right and you have calle Atocha and many local boutiques; go straight and you'll end up with Sol and shopping. Last but not least, Jaime was a kind and helpful host.
Once you walk up the 5 flights of steps (which can be tiring, I admit), you'll love this cozy apartment. It has a window you can sit in that looks out over the city of Madrid - great view, especially at sunset! The location is very central to Madrid - 10 min. walk from Puerto del Sol & 20-25 min. from the Prado & Retiro park. The street is busy & bustling, with a mix of expats, students, tourists & locals.
Jaime was a great host. He was quick to answer my questions, and had someone to meet me at the apartment to give me the keys & help with luggage.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The view from the apartment is spectacular! The apartment is charming and clean and the air conditioner was certainly appreciated. It was a quick walk to most of the attractions we wanted to see, and we found ourselves never bothering with taxis or the metro. Overall, excellent!
The view over Madrid from the window ledge was spectacular and felt so serene, particularly at night time. We also really enjoyed the layout of the shower, a nice refuge to enjoy a cold shower after a day in the heat. The air conditioning was a big plus as it was very hot in Madrid during our time there (in July). Everything is well designed in this apartment, even the flooring looks impressive. The stairs are quite a hike with baggage but luckily Hector was there to help us on our way up. Also, the roof is quite low in places as we expected. My partner is 196cm tall and hit his head a couple of times. However the slanting attic roofing does add to the charm to the look of this place. I would recommend staying here, very enjoyable overall! Didn't want to leave!
