The Space

Located between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio we are in a unique area called Greenwood Village. Our condo is shaded on two sides by mature oak and maples.

We are so close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park that it appears to be in our front yard and access is only a block away. The train whistle from the CVNP Scenic Railroad is just audible with the windows open and ears listening for its historic and melodic tune.

There is bicycling, hiking, jogging, golf, shopping, good eats, and entertainment - all within a mile or two of our condo..

The Cleveland Orchestra is 30 minutes away at Severance in the winter and 30 minutes away at their summer home, Blossom. Lawn tickets to Blossom are an affordable $20. Come and enjoy a picnic dinner on Blossom's lawn and listen to world class musicians.

The Rock Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art (opening in October 2012), Botanical Gardens, Zoo, Aquarium, four historic Theaters,Christmas Story Museum and House, Money Museum at the Federal Reserve Bank, International Women's Air & Space Museum, the Superman house, Polka Museum, the decommissioned Mather steamship and USS Cod submarine, Terminal Tower Viewing level, Natural History Museum, Crawford Auto Museum, and Dunham Tavern Museum are all waiting for you to visit in Cleveland. Just south of us, there is the Akron Art Museum, F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm (hand feed wild birds), Hale Farm & Village, the Buzzards of Hinckley, the Ohio and Erie Canal museum, the Akron Zoo, and 60,000 Amish a day trip away. I'm running out of breath! Not to leave out - Lake Erie shoreline 30 minutes from us and Cedar Point Amusement Park and ferries to Lake Erie Islands about 1 1/2 hours away.

Our second floor suite includes a spacious bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower/tub (these two rooms have a locking door to separate them from the rest of the house) and a relaxing loft area just outside the bedroom. We have a small, screened in porch and deck for enjoying our fabulous spring, summer, and fall weather! Park in our driveway and feel like you are home.

We can arrange the bedroom to accommodate a twin air mattress (supplied) if you are traveling with a child or need separate sleeping arrangement.

  • Patricia was a dear, and her home was adorable, comfortable, cozy, very clean, and exactly what we needed after a hectic weekend away from home. Her place is located in a very nice neighborhood, and staying with her and George felt almost as natural as going to Mom's house. She made some lovely recommendations for us, provided all kinds of bathroom amenities, and even served us a delicious breakfast. Everything was perfect! We'd love to come back and visit again when we have time to stay longer.

  • This place is a gem! So clean, quiet, and safe. Close to everything, including a new Target and easy to get on the 271. Best of all, a gracious hostess and a yummy breakfast to start off the day. It made my visit to my hometown pleasant and easy.

  • We had a lovely stay with the the Bohnerts. They were very helpful in helping us find a place to eat and take a hike. The room was spotless and roomy and the private bath was great. The breakfast of fresh fruit and coffee cake was very good. If were to come through the Akron area again, we would be very pleased to stay there again.

    Response from Patricia:

    Dear Corinna,
Thank you for the positive review! We also enjoyed you and your mom and having a chance to chat. Good luck with the internship! Cheesieness to you!

  • Pat and her husband were warm and welcoming hosts. They were very accommodating and generous. The home was spotless. It's not far from Cleveland--and it's right next to an excellent park with a range of good trails. Pat was very helpful throughout the stay, sharing maps and even sending me off with a little goody bag and bottle of water for my onward journey.

    Response from Patricia:

Thank you, Andrea! Good luck with school and we'll be looking forward to reading great journalistic pieces soon!

  • Pat and her husband welcomed us in their home as if we were members of the family. They greeted us with cheese and crackers and we spent the whole evening sharing interesting stories over wine and chicken wings ;) The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. We had a big and comfortable room with our own bathroom. Everything was really clean and well-prepared (towels, blankets, books, soap,...) which made us feel right at home. It was a pleasure to be there and it feels like we've not only gained a good night's rest but also two new friends. We highly recommend Pat's place for everyone visiting the area.

  • Great experience all around. Pat and George are the best of hosts and went above and beyone the call of duty. I would highly recommend staying with them - at true pleasure.

About
Professional couple with bedroom/bathroom suite available when the kids are not visiting. Husband is a semi-retired CPA and golfer. My career was in flooring; I am currently a LEED AP in the USGBC helping commercial buildings get certified and stay green. I am also an author. Check out Amazon or UntreedReads for my short story titles: The Clarent Pin and The Ghost Hunter. Check out Amazon or UntreedReads for my mystery novels; Intersection of Intent and Marjorie's Art Find. My pen name is P.A. Bees. We love to travel in the US and abroad. We will choose a historic location, tour, or building over the beach. A walk through a national park before a mall visit. A symphonic or vocal milieu over heavy metal or rap. We choose any time we can to spend with the children and grands - whether that is at Cedar Point Amusement Park or on a local playground. We ride our bikes or walk in nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We can direct you to the best local hamburger, spaghetti, and pierogi restaurants. We can give you golf course recommendations and have visited almost all of Cleveland's and Akron's best known, as well as least known, venues. Breakfast is included and will be served on our delightful, screened-in porch, weather permitting. If you need gluten-free or vegetarian, let us know in advance and we can accomodate. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the living room, books to choose, and an electronic keyboard if you are a pianist. Read our reviews and come stay with us!
