A beautiful slice of country living at it's best. Skillfully handcrafted by our local Amish and my husband, our cabin is a cool little place to relax and unwind. Perfect for a hunting getaway, relaxing retreat, or little adventure. Remington Run is a get away from it all kind of place. Watch the morning sun rise, explore the woods, spot wildlife, or visit nearby recreation land where you can hike, bike, fish, & hunt. We sit on 15 acres.

The space
Remington Run Cabin is located in a small rural community located in the rolling hill country of Southeastern Ohio. Newly constructed in 2019, this 20x20 lofted cabin was handbuilt by a member of our local Amish community along with my husband using live edge wood and notty pine to give it the perfect rustic look and feel on the inside and out. From the first time you walk in, this quaint and cozy cabin will feel like your little home away from home. It's the perfect solution to escape from the hustle bustle of everyday life to enjoy a little nature and much needed R&R. You will find all the amenities you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The cabin has a covered porch with 2 chairs, a small table and bench for outdoor sitting and dining or enjoy the outdoor fire pit and picnic table down near the pond.
Kick up your feet in the living room on our reclining love seat or comfy recliner (Extra chair provided for guests of 4). For your enjoyment, there is satelliteTV (Dish Network) with many channels for viewing. Warm up by the electric fireplace which provides the heat for the cabin in the winter. In the summer months the cabin stays nice and cool by a window A/C and the ceiling fan.
Whip up a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen. There is an electric two burner stove top unit, a toaster oven, a crock pot, and a microwave. (The old fashion stove in the photos is a non-working stove). Outside you will find both a gas and a charcoal grill. Propane provided but charcoal is not. For your morning coffee we have a Keurig.
A private bedroom on the main floor has a full bed, small dresser, and end stand. There is a bathroom and shower across the hall. A ladder provides access to the loft with a queen bed. Linens, blankets, and extra pillows are provided.

We are just a few miles from the towns of Chesterhill and Stockport where you will find some locally owned restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores, a Family Dollar, and the historic Stockport Mill Inn and Resaurant that sits along the Muskingum River. During your visit you may also want to visit a nearby local Amish home to purchase fresh eggs, noodles, or some handmade items.

We are located 20 minutes from Historic downtown McConnelsville where you will find store lined streets, the famousTwin City Opera House, a variety of restaurants, pizza shops, and the locally owned Old Bridge Brewing Company.

Within a 35 minute drive, for those outdoor enthusiasts, you can enjoy miles of hiking trails at Strouds Run State Park which has a public beach and offers kayak, paddle board, and pontoon rentals in the summer months. You can also find hiking, fishing, and hunting on over 58,000 acres at the AEP recreation land and Wolf Creek Wildlife Area.
For a little more hustle bustle, take a scenic drive through the countryside to visit Ohio University Campus in Athens. There you will find various activities, a mall, Walmart, a movie theater, many other food and shopping establishments, and even a winery along the way.
Take an adventure on an open air safari tour atThe Wilds Conservation and Wildlife park in Cumberland which is only a 30 mile drive (see their website for months of operation).

Lastly, for those of you who just want to just enjoy a getaway from it all and soak up some nature, this is the place to be.

Guest access
No wifi, however, 3.5 miles away, the Kate Simpson library (Chesterhill branch) provides free wifi access 24/7.
Verizon cell service is decent most of the time. At&T users usually have to travel up to the road nearby to get service.
There is a self-serve keypad entry. The code, detailed directions to the cabin, and other pertinent information will be sent to you prior to arrival.

Other things to note
Young children and infants are welcome, however please note for your children’s safety, we do have a pond on site and also an open loft bedroom with a railing.
