This adorable rustic cabin sleeps 4, and has many extra amenities. Lake, pool, and community house with ping-pong, library, board games, and pool table. Kayaks, paddle-boats, and glorious hiking in the Green Mountain National Forest. Tons of outdoor recreation at this true escape from the everyday.
This cabin, one of nine in this small community retreat, is 100 yards from the lake front with a private dock, and on-site caretakers. 2 bedrooms, one double bed and 2 twins. Full kitchen with seating for 4, plus 2 armchairs. Kitchen is equipped with tableware, pots and pans, and all the basic tools you'd need to make a great meal.
Our cabin is 3 season, unheated. We close up in the fall and re-open in late April. Vermont weather in early spring/fall can be fickle. We bring extra blankets! :-)
This cabin has lake access to the 3 mile, beautiful Lake Dunmore. Nestled on the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest, down the road is the Branbury State Park. Copious hiking trails! Also, the cabin is just a few minutes from the lovely village of Brandon, the town of Middlebury, VT and a pleasant hour drive to Burlington, VT.
Parking is right outside the front door - there is room for 2 cars on the front lawn near the picnic table. Extra parking, if you have visitors drop by for the day, is just a few yards away. There is a clean convenient laundromat just down the road.

We made our plans last minute and Laura got right back to us. The cabin is super charming! Lake Dunmore is beautiful and the hiking and views were incredible. We had a quiet, relaxing get away and that is exactly what we were hoping for.
Staying at Laura's cabin behind Camel's hump was exactly what I wanted. On the property is an inground pool as well as main building social hall complete with ping pong, childrens books, couches and more.
The paddleboat did have a whole and sank but I was able to get it back to shore. I plan to go back again yearly.
Love this place! A little rustic, maybe, for some, but this was just right for us. Access to a dock, grill, fire pit, and with a great and helpful caretaker in Tim. The cabin itself has everything you need. We just might be back!
The cabin was absolutely perfect and just as described. We went with three kids 7 and under and it was great. The little rec room on the property was such a fun spot for the kids with tons of toys, board games, books, etc. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed to cook meals. There were plenty of boats and life jackets for us to use (we brought our own for the two younger ones but borrowed ones for us and our older child). It is a great spot for families or a grown ups only trip, would highly recommend and definitely plan on going back!
We loved this cabin and the surrounding area. My boyfriend and I just returned from a long weekend in Lake Dunmore and it was wonderful. I participated in the local triathalon in the beautiful lake. What a great place to run and bike and swim. The lake is clean and cute. There are boats available to rent for pleasure or fishing.
The cabin itself was adorable, very charming and clean. Our stay was during August. There was no A/C but that was no issue at all, very cool and breezy at night. The cabin had everything you could need such as plates, silver wear , and a coffee maker. on the property is a communal pool that is clean and well kept. Also, rec hall with games, pool, ping pong, and books. There was even horseshoes! Lots of activities and fun!
The only helpful hints I can give are to bring your own towels and bedding. I didn't get great cell phone service so it was helpful to print out the directions to get there. Two thinks I wish I brought were garbage bags, and dish soap. There is a small general store about two miles down the road that had any little thing we needed ... Even wine!
The caretaker Tim and his wife were very helpful giving information of where to go, what to do, and answering any questions we had. We can't wait to plan our next stay!
Laura's cabin was exactly what we wanted for our weekend in Vermont. It is perfect for a group of four. We had a great time on the lake, which is just a short walk away from the cabin. The grounds have a kayak and floats there to use on the water. I would definitely stay here again!
We underestimated the cold nights, without heating and isolation. Therefore, it would be better to stay here during summer. The fireplace in front of the cabin was just wonderful and warmed us a bit ;-) The lake is not as close as described, which was a pity. Communication with Laura was good and she helped us out during our stay when the oven didn't work.
