Characterful bungalow, quirkily furnished in various incarnations of retro. Located in one of Montreal's most pleasant neighbourhoods, with a gourmet food market, a baker, cafes and shops nearby. Close to metro! Could suit a family or a group.
Characterful little bungalow with three closed bedrooms, fully-furnished in various incarnations of retro.
Ideal for a family of four or five. Three bedrooms - one for the parents, with two additional bedrooms that could accommodate two or three (one of the children's bedrooms has an extra bed, which could be kept or removed).
There are two living rooms. The main living room is spacious and comfy, with a large work desk and a turntable. The second is adjacent to the kitchen, perfect for chilling out with a book on the sofa or listening to music (from our 'wall of sound', an entire wall filled with CDs and vinyl).
The bathroom has an all-in-one bath and shower and a washer/drier.
There's also a patio with a barbecue and a dinky little garden with a patch of grass for sunbathing that gives onto a back alley, where local kids play during the summer months.
The bungalow is located in a nice, relaxed, leafy area, just a few metro stops from the town centre. Locals include elderly Portuguese and Italians (the original residents), young families and some bohemian types. There are restaurants, cafes, a corner shop, an award-winning bakery and even a vintage clothes shop nearby.
The area is just down the road from Little Italy (lively, characterful cafés), Little Bogota (loads of restaurants) and Little Bombay (cheap curries). It's a stone's throw from a great gourmet food market (Marché Jean-Talon), with a few good watering holes all within walking distance.
This is a brilliant base from which to explore the city - only 5 minutes walk from two metro stations (Jean-Talon and DeCastelnau) that will get you to downtown Montreal in no time at all.
Price includes internet and electricity.
Nous parlons français y espanol tambien.
L'appartement est très bien situé dans Montreal et la déco est vraiment sympa !!!
Il y a tout ce qu'il faut, on s'y sent comme chez soi !
I'd say 4.5 stars, the only thing missing was the A/C, haha.
We had a great time here, lots of room for our family. The Jean Talon market is only a couple blocks away as well as two subway stations, which we made excellent use of. The house was tidy and stocked with TP and paper towel as well as some milk and juice. There were cleared dressers and shelves so we didn't have to live out of our suitcases.
So much better than a hotel! I will be using airbnb for all my travel from here on out. :)
We were met upon arrival by Elodie, our contact person. Our hosts provided us with milk, jam and peanut butter to have something to eat upon arrival. Coffee and tea were available in the kitchen. Much more than we'd expect! We felt really at home. Our first experience with airbnb was perfect thanks to Lorraine.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
