lovely country like living right in the middle of it all!
A very quaint one bedroom 1920's guest house (750sq ft) located in Atwater Village. This private cottage/bungalow is located behind a main house within a landscaped setting that creates natural privacy.
It has beautiful and original hardwood floors throughout and is flooded with sunlight throughout the day. It has a cheerful little sit down kitchen as well as a small sun porch . The bathroom has been recently renovated and has a new sink and bathroom tile. The house is equipped with new copper piping, a tank less water heater and Life Source water filtration system...no more buying bottled water! The laundry area is located outside and is shared with the front house. The cottage has a newly built porch with a little cafe table for sitting and enjoying your morning cup of coffee. The house additionally comes equipped with a giant LCD flat screen T.V., Apple T.V., a Netflix and HULU plus account, and high speed wireless internet.
Japanese giant timber bamboo lines the rear yard creating a shaded oasis accompanied by a Weber BBQ and outdoor dining area. This area is available for use by the front house, however they have a private front yard so they tend not to venture back!
The house is located in the heart of charming Atwater Village, one block from Atwater Crossing with restaurants, art classes, yoga, two full-blown theaters that are home to the renowned Circle X Theater and Atwater Theater. Just a short walk down quaint tree-lined streets to many boutique shops, cafes, gourmet restaurants and bars on Glendale Ave and Los Feliz Blvd. If you prefer to eat in, you can walk to the new Atwater Village Farm for organic local produce and meats and on Sundays, pop by the Atwater farmer's market for locally produced organic fruits, vegetables, meats and fish.

The guest can use the garden and outside BBQ. They can have dinner parties and the large farm table under a bamboo screen.
I live one block away from the property so I'm on hand at all times if the guests need me but I usually give them privacy unless they request my aid in something.
Atwater village is a great neighborhood because your so close to everything yet you feel like your away from it when your home! There's always plenty of parking and there are many restaurants, bars and coffee shops you can walk to.
We're very excited that Aroma gourmet italian restaurant is opening at the bottom of out street. We also have ATX one block away for coffee and mediterranean dinners. If you want to walk a bit further....about 7 minutes by foot then a whole bunch of great restaurants ,bars and good coffee shops(Proof Bakery) are available to you.
pop in the car and your in Silverlake, los felix,Eagle Rock ,highland park or Echo park in a few minutes!
I love the east side of LA!
We are very close to a bus line that takes you right to central station downtown. We're also walking distance from Metro links train.
If you want to take a bus downtown it's only about a ten minute bus ride

Io was a great host. Her cottage sits in the midst of a green oasis and feels really secluded - in the best possible (website hidden) was there to greet us when we arrived on our first day of moving to LA and she really took the time to show us the place, explaining everything to us. Also, Io knows the area very well and suggested all the good places to get coffee, food and anything else that you could need. As a special perk, when the bigger front house was empty for one night, she even offered us to watch a movie on the big screen in there. We didn't end up doing it, but we really appreciated the offer! Couldn't have imagined a warmer welcome to the city.
We stayed at Io's charming cottage in Silverlake (Atwater Village) for 5 nights. Enjoyed our time there and like the neighborhood--great vibe. Farmer's Market was outstanding. Whenever we had questions or something arose that required her attention: she was there in person or responded via (website hidden) is a delightful hostess and went out of way to make our time there a memorable one.
Io went above and beyond hosting us. We were traveling with our 10-month-old and she set up a pack n play and high chair for us and left a ton of books and toys for us to use. The place has a cool retro-vibe. Simple but MUCH nicer than staying at a boring hotel.
We spent a wonderful 3 weeks at the cottage, which is a charming, quiet retreat from the city. Everything was very clean, great bed, great shower, huge TV and Io was a thoughtful and attentive host. The backyard is magical, you are surrounded by lavender, lime trees and hummingbirds. Atwater Village is one of the best neighborhoods in LA, with great restaurants in walking distance and an incredible farmers market on Sunday. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
The reservation was canceled 12 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This little bungalow felt like home. Equipped with everything you need and more. The yard felt like a secret garden lush with lavender, succulents, citrus trees, exotic flowers, and all the other brilliant foliage southern california has to offer. A well stocked kitchen, good parking, great neighborhood, laundry, and a super comfy bed!!! I even had a little bbq with a few friends jn the backyard and it was (website hidden) is so friendly and helpful. I am already very familiar with LA, as I lived here for ten years, but Io had great suggestions and print outs of places to go and eat and do and they were all my favorite places! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Io was a perfect host.
Helpful and great with suggestions of where to eat and what to do.
The cottage is perfect. Quiet, clean and an oasis from it all.
I will definitely be staying there again!
Cute cottage and a very nice host. Nice outdoor space with table and grill. I really enjoyed chilling on the porch and watching the humming birds zip around! Io would also occasionally bring us avocados from the tree, and there's oranges and mandarines on the tree in the back yard. Perfect introduction to Southern California.
