I try to give my guests as much privacy as they wish, but I endeavour to spend some time with them, showing them the best touring routes and sites to visit. I also provide a ride to Barna village in my car if they wish, time permitting.
The peace and tranquility of the mountain we live on, the views are spectacular, over the nearby lake and bog, across Galway Bay, to the Burren, The Cliffs, and the Aran Islands. At night the stars are literally popping out of the sky and the lights of the villages across the bay are twinkling in response.

Brian was very welcoming & the cottage was excellent in every way, even some pete to look at which I have never seen before.
Brian shared his very rich historical and contempory knowledge of the local area with us, giving me a much better understanding of the Ireland my forebears came from.He went way over and above the call of duty in helping me in my Galway ancestor search.
Brian was a great host. Helpful with local places to see and eat. His place was very nice and conveniently located. Highly recommended.
This place is the best! Brian was so accommodating and helped us find some local spots to eat for the night. We only stayed one night and wish we would have stayed longer!
We stayed at Brian's lovely cottage for two nights. It was wonderful. Brian communicated well with us to arrange directions, check in time and also tips about the area. He was kind enough to leave some food for us as a start too.
The cottage itself is well located, not too far from Galway. If you're looking for a country escape or something more relaxing it's well recommended. Barna has all you need and the country side is lovely.
The cottage is large, more that well equipped and warm. We would definitely stay again and can highly recommend it to others.
Cheers, Pria and Blake
Brian was a great host and shared his knowledge and recommendations for Galway and the surrounding countryside. The accommodations are accurately described. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
