  • The Hideaway Cottage was perfect for our family of four adults (two college age sons). It was a home away from home during our visit to the West. Brian was a great host, stocking the fridge w/ all we needed our first couple of days. The spacious kitchen was fully equipped, the cottage had all we needed, including a washing machine. The Views from the cottage were spectacular!! Looks out over the bay, across to the edge of the Cliffs of Moher and can also see the Aran Islands. Easy drive into Old Galway and the Village of Barna/Bearna has some great pubs, restaurants and a grocery store.

Brian is also a wealth of knowledge on the history of the area (even does walking tours of Galway!) Brian also had many great restaurant and pub tips. The soccer ball, hurling stick and Puff, the family dog...were great additions so that our active sons felt very much at home. Thanks Brian, Irish Hospitality at its BEST!

  • We can't say enough to express how lovely our stay was. The cottage itself was perfect for our family of four, with all the necessary comforts and amenities. There were even toys for our two little ones to play with, which they loved. It is in a very convenient, easy to find location with access to all the local attractions. Brian was an extremely helpful host. He gave us plenty of tips and ideas about what do in the area. Our favorite part was the beautiful beach he told us about, which we would not have discovered otherwise. We would stay here again without hesitation!

Thanks Christine for the lovely review...tell Patrick that Germany will be a great place for you and the girls and to hang onto the day job for a while all will have such a wonderfully balanced view of Europe after this...a valuable commodity back in the USA when you return. Safe travels...say hi to the kids and keep practicing hurling...Brian

  • Brian was a wonderful host! He gave us a lot of information about the area and where we could go. We had a lot of fun talking to him and enjoying a pint or two. The cottage is also perfect, with spectacular views and everything you need for enjoying your stay. Furthermore his dog Puff is just cute and lovely. Thanks for everything, we would definitely recommend this cottage to everyone!

  • We enjoyed the cottage and found it to be very comfortable. It is located in a quiet, residential area in Barna just a few minutes drive to shops and restaurants. Brian is a very hospitable host who helped us sort out where we should go and what we should see to get the most out of our visit. His knowledge of the Galway area is superb. His attentiveness to our needs was most welcomed and appreciated.

  • Brian was an amazing host! The cottage is beautiful and comfortable with a stellar view and we truly loved it. Brian provided breakfast items and excellent recommendations on what to do and see in County Galway. We would have stayed indefinitely if we could have! I highly recommend him, his cottage, and this area of Ireland.

  • Brian was an excellent host!! He was very hospitable and sweet as can be. The breakfast care package is a really nice touch too. He knows A LOT about the area, so if you want to see something interesting that's off the beaten path, just ask him!! He's more than happy to give you some ideas. The house itself was very nice and very clean. It had some beautiful views. I thought the house was pretty to find, Brian gave pretty clear directions on how to get there. The location was good too; it was super easy to get into Galway and it was pretty easy to get to the Connemara National park. Our stay was so wonderful and my husband and I loved the area so much that we're already talking about going back to Brian's cottage with some friends! Oh!! And Puff is seriously the cutest and sweetest dog in Ireland!!
