Brian proved to be a good communicator prior to our arrival and gave us very clear instructions on how to reach his place. Upon check-in he gave us a lot of information verbally. The bedroom was of a good size and we found the double bed to be comfortable. Brian provided an adequate supply of breakfast provisions. Be aware that if you are travelling with a lot of bulky luggage that the narrow, winding stairway can prove to be a challenge. There are several eateries in Bearna as well as a well-stocked supermarket.

Brian is an amazing host. He made my family feel at home and gave us great tips to see local sites.

Our host was friendly when we arrived and had good tips for sightseeing and restaurants in the area. The home, however, was not clean and our stay was not enjoyable. My husband was able to find cleaning supplies to clean the shower floor and bathroom fixtures. He cleaned the bathroom floor with bathroom cleaner on his hands and knees as, though there was a mop and bucket, there was no floor cleaner in the house. The floors throughout the house had hair, dander, and crumbs on them, presumably from more than one round of previous guests, which we swept up. The sheets on the bed were laundered and the sinks seemed to be clean, but the rest of the house hadn't seen a cleaning in some time. For this reason, we did not cook at the house, as we'd hoped to. Especially in light of the facts that we could not cook there and didn't want to be in the house any more than necessary, this stay was hugely overpriced. In fact, in visiting seven (7) areas throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland on this trip, this was the most expensive stay per-night. We stayed exclusively at self-contained apartments and homes; all the others were immaculate and well appointed. This place outside Galway was even more expensive than our apartments in Belfast and Dublin(!) not to mention more expensive than the places we stayed outside of the other cities/towns including Waterford, Cork, and Dingle. It was also very cold in the home. When we told the owner, there were no adjustments made. Even far out in the country on the Dingle peninsula, our host volunteered to make a fire and had an electric radiator available before we had to even mention the potential for uncomfortable temperatures. (All of the other places we stayed offered central heating on adjustable timers.) This was our last stop in Ireland and a sad way to end our otherwise perfect trip. We hope this review will be published so others can be saved from this experience.

Nice house, Brian is very helpful, very well equipped but a bit of a declutter both downstairs and outside would make a huge difference

Living in the west of Ireland, blessed by good health, fair weather, gorgeous views of Galway Bay the Burren and the Aran Islands on the horizon, I am a lucky so and so. Glad to share the wonderful Connemara scenery with visitors to my house.
