About this listing
Great alternative for a hotel room. Located between the city centre (a two minute walk) - with the historic Jordaan, local known shopping area 9 Streets, Dam square -, the Vondelpark and the museum area. You are not far from the Damsquare where you have a long lain of shops and not to forget the popular madamtouso
From where the apartment is situated there is a bus available that can take you directly to Schiphol Airport and it is only 2 minutes away. It is cheaper than taken the train because it only cost 4 euros
The studio is neat, clean and cozy. There is a double bed with a great mattress and clean sheets, TV and Internet. I also will give you free coffe for the Nespresso coffee machine so you will have a great start of every day during your stay!
Don't hesitate to contact me during your stay: I will give you details on local hotspots for bars, restaurants, shops, touristic sightseeing and anything else you want to know about this lovely city.
To make you feel welcome and start your stay at the moment you arrive I will provide you with a bottle of prosecco or (typical Amsterdam) beers!
See you soon!
The conversation with kees was a Little bit Strange, but his Friend, who gave us the keys, was very friendly, nice and Helpful. The room was clean, and is Realy very Close to the Center, so we walked every distance. There is only one Problem, there is no Door in the bathroom. All in all i would recomend the Flat.
Kees seems like a nice guy and was pretty easy to communicate with. The place is clean and cozy and in a nice, residential neighborhood. However, the biggest problem that I faced was the lack of wifi, which turned out to be a huge pain in the neck for me since I was relying on wifi for all of my communications (I'm from the US and was not using roaming on my mobile in AMS). This meant that I was constantly seeking out pubs or coffee shops to fill my wifi needs. I even had to turn on roaming at times, which I would rather have avoided. A heads up from the owner before I arrived to AMS would have been appreciated. Hopefully, he'll get this fixed soon. Otherwise, it's a nice place, but if you need wifi, as I imagine most people do and would expect, I would make sure that it's been fixed before you commit to this listing.
Great place to stay! Clean bright and open apartment, great area if you want to be more amongst the locals. Fantastic places to eat drink and shop nearby. Would deffinitely stay here again.
Kees was very nice, punctual, and helpful, and the apartment was just as described: bright, clean, and very well located. We would come back on a future trip to Amsterdam.
Kees is a nice host. Easy to contact him. Very Nice appartment, with a great localisation!... But no Tv, no internet (wifi does not work)..
Me and my girlfriend had four amazing days in Amsterdam. A beautiful city. Kees' apartment lies in very cozy and quiet surroundings. At our arriving a friend of Kees, Cedric, welcomed us and gave us the key as well as some very helpful advices for exploring the city. The apartment itself looks as it is shown on the pictures.
But there were some vexations. First of all, the apartment was not clean. I suppose it wasn't cleaned before our arrival. Secondly, some things didn't work like the WIFI, the doorbell, the light in the bathroom or one of the window catch. Finally, you need more than two minutes to the REAL centre of Amsterdam where the main tourist attractions can be found.
Nevertheless, me and my girlfriend still enjoyed our stay.
About the Host, Kees
Born in the south of the Netherlands I moved to Amsterdam about ten years ago. I own a company in Amsterdam now and love to share experiences of this great city.
Renting out my studio is a great way to get to know foreign people with different cultures who like to travel, just like I do.
