If you'd like to bring a group that wants to camp, there is plenty of room for tents and parking. Extra nightly charge per person applies.
The meadow is perfect for WEDDINGS, too. The studio is available for the dressing area and over night, too! Inquire about prices.
There is a large meadow and woods that are for your enjoyment. The fire pit is exclusively for your use. Ask for wood, if you need it. If you have trouble getting it started, I am happy to help. There are snowshoes for use in the winter, kayaks and beach equipment in the summer.
I live on the property and my home is shielded from your view by evergreens. I am available if you need anything at all, such as: firewood, extra linens, cooking supplies, advise on dining, entertainment, beaches, hiking, bargains etc. The Studio will be unlocked when you arrive and your keys are inside. You do not need to check in. Late night arrivals are fine. When you leave, just leave the keys and door unlocked, no need to check out. I will respect your absolute privacy except in emergencies. If you do want to share a beer or glass of wine by the fire, I'm very amenable, otherwise I will leave you undisturbed to enjoy the seclusion and quiet space.
We had such an amazing time getting away from Chicago this past weekend. The area around the cabin is breath taking and very close to many great hiking spots at sleeping Bear. Pam was so kind and helpful. The cabin inside was a treat... toasty fire..stove top and fridge was all you needed for a stay away. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back in the summer to bike and try different outdoor activities.
A perfect place to relax: quiet, comfortable, beautiful, clean. Just as described by Pamela and in the photos. If you want to feel like you're sleeping in the woods, but on a very cozy bed, with a wonderful shower, nice dishes, hot coffee, and a fireplace, this is the place for you (and your dog!).
My spouse, our dog, Maggie, and I thought we'd spend more time in Traverse City, especially for meals, but the studio was so wonderful that we mostly hunkered down there. When we wanted to get out, Suttons Bay had everything (and more) that we wanted. We had takeout pizza and salad from Roman Wheel, perch sandwich and Yeti Burger (not real Yeti!) at Boones, steak and ribs at Village Inn, and desert and coffee at 9 Bean Rows. (It might seem like a meat-fest, but there are vegetarian options on all the menus.) We took walks on the road, explored the ice caves in Leland, and visited the dog park in TC twice (corner of Division and M72/22), which Maggie highly recommends (as do we).
The next time we head north we'll stay at the studio. It's sweet and cozy, and Pam is a lovely host.
Pamela was a great host again. Would recommend the studio to anyone looking for a great, quiet retreat with plenty of amenities.
The Studio is great! Set in some of the most beautiful country northern MI has to offer, this is a cozy get-away for you and your partner. Comfy bed, great shower, efficiency kitchen, and a warm gas fireplace made our anniversary weekend such a relaxing one, and all the recent snowfall turned Pamela's property into a bona fide winter wonderland :) There's even a small speaker you can hook your phone or laptop up to for music. The floor plan is open, with bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom all connected, so this retreat is probably best for you and your significant other (and not great uncle Jim). We made great use of the snowshoes Pamela provides and enjoyed exploring the property woods and nearby dunes. Suttons Bay and nearby Leland are great places to walk around (eat at 9 Bean Rows in Suttons Bay!), or you can chill at the Studio with hot chocolate, puzzles and a good book. We'll be back here again!
Pamela provided a pleasant experience for both of us. She was accommodating with immediate response from inquiry to booking to the stay itself. My wife and I were extremely appreciative of her warm hospitality. I would highly recommend any of Pamela's properties to others. Thanks.
This is a great place even in the deep winter. The view over the snow white meadow is beautiful. When it is cold and dark outside, the gas fireplace gives both warmth and cosy light so it is lovely to just relax on the sofas and read a book with a good bottle of Leelanau wine. The area has a lot to offer and Pam is really commited to make the stay memorable so I can only warmly recommend the Studio!
This was the first opportunity that my wife and I had to get away in 10 years, and Pamela made it perfect! The Studio was clean, professional, and loaded with details that made our stay very comfortable. With her warm personality and idyllic Leelanau property our weekend venture was everything we dreamed it to be. Book your stay here NOW and be prepared to be surprised!
A very cozy and comfortable cabin in the woods. Our stay was in the winter so we spent most of the time in front of the fireplace/heater reading and relaxing. The space was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. I'd recommend The Studio to anyone looking to spend some time in one of the most beautiful parts of Michigan.
We loved our stay in The Studio and would love to return soon. It was comfortable, warm and cozy for our November trip and was just the retreat that we needed. The Studio was well-appointed and had everything that we needed. The shower was beautiful (!) and there were fun games to play and cozy seating inside. Pamela has done a wonderful job treating guests warmly on her lovely property.
Loved the privacy of this studio. We saw Pam once when we arrived and we waved goodby when we left. She was very pleasant.
The studio was very nice. The view of the changing fall colors was quite stunning. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our experience.
