  • This was an extremely disappointing place to lodge, despite the kindness and helpfulness of the onsite manager, Bogdan. For one, the pictures on the site are deeply misleading in terms of the place's appearance. The inside is quite run down, with holes in the plaster in many places, very worn out floors, a heating plate that barely boiled water after 15 minutes, holes in the screen, and a non-functional fridge that serves as a kind of table that is completely moldy inside! Next, we arrived and there was no water to drink, and only half a roll of toilet paper. If it was made clear on the site that you had to supply all your water and TP, that would be one thing, but.. Lastly, there is nowhere to eat in the place (2 chairs inside, no table), and only 3 dishes. If the per night cost was say $40, this might be worth it, but for $80, truly outrageous. Despite the great time we had in Utilla and the Cays, we would never come back to these cabins. See our fuller review in Trip Advisor along with photos that really show what the place is like.

  • A really comfortable bungalow in a beautiful location. The owners have kayaks to borrow which are perfect for exploring the nearby cays. Be sure to make arrangements to stop off in Utila town to buy groceries before you take a boat out here so that you don't need to waste time or money running back and forth to the town and can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for people seeking a quiet place on the beach away from the noise and crowds!

  • This place can't possibly be more relaxing! We woke up to the sea at our feet... had coffee on the beach then snorkeled all morning! We spent our afternoons either diving with the local dive shop (they picked us up right at the dock with a friendly 'Good Morning Divers! Are you awake!?") and then kayaked over to the cays for dinner! COULD NOT ASK FOR A MORE RELAXING VACATION! Also, the resident puppy is pretty much the GREATEST dog alive! HIGHLY recommended!

About
i started my developing of a eco tourism resort back in 1985 in costa rica..my daughter was born so the next time i focused my attention of building it again, the area had turned into into a 'cancun' type circus so i gave that up and starting back at the drawing board, and took a sailing trip down to the bay islands in honduras via panama looking for my 'paradise'... i found it on a secluded beach in utila, accessible ONLY by boat, where the jungle came up to the waters edge and over 8 years have hacked away at this jungle with a machete and over time and when money allowed have built 4 little round 'birdhouses which were meant for my family to reside in. i am not here all of the time, so when i am here, i love to show my guests the pure paradise i have found and developed over the years. ' "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!" I have been very blessed and fortunate with GOD"S direction in my life...without HIM, and the lessons that he constantly teaches me, i hopefully can help others understand how important is it to allow HIM into our hearts, minds, and soul!
