Located in the Eastern part of the city, our neighborhood has been among Berlin's most popular over the past 15 years. The streets are bustling with with people, there are plenty of bars, restaurants and little shops. Mauerpark with its flee market, open air karaoke, and street artists is just a 10-minutes walk away and Berlins most popular Sunday destination.
There are bakeries and plenty of inexpensive little restaurants across the street as well as supermarkets and specialty stores.
It's a great and easy place to discover Berlin from with many downtown places within walking distance and the subway station a mere block away. The U2 subway will take you to all the major downtown destinations such as Alexanderplatz, Mitte district with Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Zoologischer Garten. The popular Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt areas are within 20 minutes walking distance or easy to reach by streetcar. Several places around offer bike rental.
The airports can be reached by public transportation within 35 minutes (Tegel) and an hour (Schönefeld) at a cost of around 3€. You must change busses / trains once in order to get here.
Parking is possible at 7€ per day in a garage around the corner.
Other Things to Note
While check-in time is generally flexible, check-in does need some advance co-ordination as we need for someone to be there for you when you get here.
If we have guests before or after you, we will need time for cleaning which means you might have to leave in the morning around 10/11 or might not be able to arrive before the afternoon around 4.
We are leaving a little booklet with rules & recommendations on the kitchen desk for you.
These are the most basic rules:
- We will be asking of a copy / photo of your passport after confirmation. This is our home, please understand that we wish to know who is going to live in it.
- Smoking is allowed on the balcony.
- No parties or guests, please, especially none that you have just met.
- Always lock both locks on the apartment door when you're leaving, even if you are just going downstairs or when you are inside.
- Feel free to use our Wifi, but refrain from illegal downloads (film, music...). Please, tell your children, too.
Just back from a wonderful week in Berlin, where we stayed in this lovely, immaculate apartment in a perfect location for touring the city. The hosts left a detailed binder with all the information needed for making our staying comfortable, including detailed recommendations on everything from negotiating public transportation to their favorite local restaurants. Would stay again without hesitation.
My wife, son and I have just got back from a fantastic 4-day break in this beautiful apartment. It was just as described - beautiful and large, and yet very cosy. I don't think we could fault the apartment in any way whatsoever. It was immaculately clean, had everything we needed, and a great location.
The communications with Daniel and Dietmar were excellent and we were given brilliant instructions both before, and when we got to the apartment, in the form of a welcome pack.
Berlin itself was fabulous, and definitely exceeded our expectations. We would really recommend it as a city break. There is just so much history and beauty. The apartment is within walking distance of all the main historical sites. When we got a bit tired, we made good use of the excellent and inexpensive public transport.
Daniel and Dietmar gave us some really good recommendations for dining.
All in all, it was a great holiday. Thank-you so much Daniel and Dietmar for the use of your lovely apartment.
This lovely and very clean flat who is located in one of the best areas in Berlin is for sure a visit worth. Our wonderful and VERY helpful hosts had for sure made their nicely decorated and modern flat very cosy for us during our stay at Christmas time and we felt very welcome from the beginning. Communication was very easy and quick and furthermore an very informative and helpful guide was presented for us. We can for sure recommend this flat and thanks our reliable hosts for making our stay in Berlin so nice.
Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.
We had a wonderful time in Berlin - loved the city and loved the flat! Daniel and Dietmar left the apartment beautifully clean and gave comprehensive instructions for all appliances as well as a list of restaurant and bar suggestions. They made some great recommendations for things to do, including the Berlin Culture Festival which was awesome! Their flat is very spacious and in a great part of town. We would love to come and visit again sometime, we miss the flat, the curry wurst and Berlin in general!! Thank you for having us, guys!
Very nice, large, clean and bright apartment in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg. Perfect for a family with two children. Daniel and Dietmar helped us with a lot of information and help with parking license for our car. We can highly recommend the apartment.
My partner and I moved to Berlin in 1999. We both studied Political Sciences at the University of Potsdam and now work in downtown Berlin for a state government and a local cinema operator. We bought our apartment in 2009 when it was beautifully renovated. We love music (singer-songwriter, bluegrass, electronic), dinner with friends in our georgous kitchen or in one of the many little restaurant around, and travelling. Since we are gone frequently, we are renting out our place to anyone interested in discovering Berlin from the perspective of a private visitor while we travel to our favorite cities like Stockholm, New York, Madrid or take roadtrips through the US or other countries.
