Bedouin & Bfast 10 mins DXB airport

Villa - Private room · b, 17D Street, Dubai, 79501, United Arab Emirates

This spacious air-conditioned ensuite king room for ONE non-smoking guest is upstairs in our safe family home. This is ideal for anyone transiting via Dubai Intl Airport, just 10 mins by taxi. Guests have use of balcony and pool. Breakfast included.

The Space

Room amenities include: comfortable king sized bed, bathroom toiletries, wifi (see cautionary note below), tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water, magazines and tourist information, adapter plugs, slippers, bathrobe and a loaned mobile phone on request (pay as you go).

This is a strictly non-smoking house, both inside and in communal areas.

We are located less than 15 mins cheap taxi ride from Dubai International Airport (DXB), making us a convenient stop if you are in transit. Our villa is located in the family-oriented suburb of Mirdif in a residential cul-de-sac.

Our location is not in the centre of Dubai city, but good transport links mean guests on short stays can still access the city's attractions as well as staying close to the airport for connecting flights.
We are the ideal choice for short stays when being close to this airport is your priority.

Many of our guests come to Dubai to connect with onward flights, and we are flexible about check in times (see below). We help with taxis and checking in online and we even have luggage scales!

Dubai will soon have two airports on opposite ends of the city. We are close to DXB (including all Emirates flights) but NOT to the new airport DWC. Check your travel documents before proceeding to book.

Due to our location on the border with the neighbouring Emirate of Sharjah, we are less than 30km from Sharjah International Airport (low cost Air Arabia, Air India and Jet Airways among others within Indian/Middle Eastern/African region). A taxi journey will be between 25-40 minutes depending on traffic and around 80 dirhams taxi fare.

I don't offer an instant booking facility. I prefer to establish communication with a guest and ascertain the guest's requirements before a booking is confirmed and we like to ensure our location and amenities will suit you. Our budget-friendly price should not be your only consideration.

Attractions in Dubai include: Burj Khalifa, shops and entertainment at Dubai Mall, traditional souks, abra boat rides on Dubai Creek, Atlantis the Palm, Wild Wadi water park, Ski Dubai, several golf courses, beaches along the Jumeirah coast, desert excursions, myriad restaurants and cafes, shopping malls and public parks to name a few.

I have a special arrangement with a tour company for desert safaris or city tours. This company's mini buses collect and drop you off at our villa, and the price includes BBQ dinner, unlimited soft drinks, activities and transportation.

I am happy to suggest activities or days out, tours and assist with bookings and itineraries. We provide heaps of tourist information leaflets, guide books, maps and brochures to help you with planning your excursions and exploration of the UAE.

Check-In Time After 11:00 AM.
Please note: Earlier check ins (before 11am) require an additional night's booking.
Check-Out Time Before 11.00 AM

Meals Breakfast is served in our dining area - choose to sit inside or outside. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in the guest room, and a selection of fresh Lavazza coffees in the morning. Numerous takeaways in immediate vicinity.

Internet Free WiFi. We don't have an especially fast connection so this property would not suit someone reliant on technology for work. Video calls might be intermittent. Please choose alternative accommodation if a fast speed connection is important to you, or if you plan to use the internet for long periods of the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Dubai home!

Guest Access

Pool access is directly through patio doors from the lounge. Enjoy a refreshing swim in our pool (shared with 5 neighbouring villas only) in the shade of palm trees. The best weather in Dubai for swimming is from May to November.

Interaction with Guests

On arrival or during a guest's first breakfast time, I help to orientate my guests and provide them with information to get started with getting around. Guests are likely to be out and about during the day, and often come home late at night. If guests need anything, the host family are usually around but there might be occasions when the host family won't be available due to family/work commitments.

The Neighborhood

There are some small grocery shops, local bakery, bank and ATM, laundry and numerous salons very close by. There is a pharmacy and a convenience store immediately opposite the villa for essentials. We are situated between Mirdif Mosque and pretty Mirdif Park (shady walking track and outdoor gym). On our doorstep we have several takeaways (Indian, local, fish and chips, Subway, kebabs) and Oregano, a very handy pizza/pasta restaurant/takeaway. Fine dining can be found in hotels across the city, and there are also various eateries in nearby malls.

We are in a residential cul-de-sac away from tower blocks, main roads and the bustle of Downtown. This is the chance to see every-day life tick over. If you need to be located centrally, please choose an alternative listing.

Our busy family consists of myself (English housewife) and my husband (British Zimbabwean) and one 7-yr old at school. We have a cat called Kassie.

Getting around

We are 2 min walk from a bus stop, where efficient air-conditioned buses take you to Rashidiya Metro Station (12 minute journey), where you link with the metro's 'red route' across the city. You'll need a little travellers spirit and be used to negotiating city public transport (with plenty of guidance from us of course). When it's time to leave, we can arrange an airport taxi for any time of day or night.
When exploring the city, allow plenty of time for public transport. You might need a combination of buses and taxis to reach your destination and it can take a while to cover Dubai's distances. Taxis and cars are the most popular way to get around in UAE but public transport is always improving and it's safe, efficient and clean. Compared to European cities, transport and taxis here are inexpensive and good value.

I have a public transport travel card for loan to guests.

We have one small car parking space outside the villa on the road.

Other Things to Note

*Some airlines might re-locate to DWC temporarily during this time*

Written directions are sent as part of the confirmation email from airbnb after you complete your booking. In the email, find the blue box that says 'VIEW ITINERARY' and follow the link to the details of your trip. You need to print this and keep it if you want a straightforward and fast taxi journey from the airport. Taxi drivers do not always know the way. Getting to the property is the guest's responsibility.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • This was both my first trip to UAE and my first experience of airbnb ...and thanks to Clare and Gary I had a great time! The room was perfect - spotlessly clean, spacious, welcoming and homely - with excellent ensuite bathroom. I thought that being on a flight path plus calls to prayer from the nearby mosque may have disturbed my sleep...but no way ..the bed was just too lovely! Clare provided very helpful and clear information beforehand as well as allaying my fears about exploring Dubai on my own. Once she initiated me into the public transport system, I was off! For me, part of the enjoyment of 'tasting Dubai' was mingling with the huge mix of people on the metro/buses and I felt 100% safe everywhere I travelled. I really appreciated Clare's kindness, help and flexibility, and it was so nice to chat with her and the family and get some insight into life there. A lovely, relaxing place to stay...much appreciated.

    Response from Clare:

Happy to help, Helen, and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Anytime you are over this way, you know where we are :-) We found the front door key on the blue trunk in the guest room - I knew it would turn up! Hope your journey home went smoothly. Take care

  • Fantastic hosts. Great place and a super good deal in super expensive Dubai.

Gary and Claire are really great people and very gracious hosts. I stayed for three nights in January 2014. They were very flexible with my check in and check out and went out of their way to accommodate my requests.

Even small details like the public transportation schedule, NOL pass and water bottles in the room were taken care of.

Definitely I would love to stay at their place during my next Dubai visit.

  • This room is just perfect for a stopover stay in Dubai. First of all it is a beautiful room and is located near the airport. Clare prepared a delicious breakfast and helped me planning my activities in Dubai. Once explained it is very easy to use public transportation from and to Clares house. So all thumbs up!!!

  • Staying with Clare and Gary has been a real pleasant experience! They share their lovely home, which is well kept, very clean, and in a nice neighborhood. Above all they are the most helpful if you have any questions about where to go, what to do, how to go there. Clare even made some phonecalls for me to book a safarie excursion she recommended.
Very nice, hospitable couple and good acocmodation; I am thankful for this experience!

  • From the start to finish Clare was nothing but amazing. Before I arrived she Informed me of transport to/from the house, prices, activities I maybe be interested in that needed booking in advance, and answered any questions I had no matter how silly they were! After backpacking for 5 months, a stress free 5 days with Clare and her family was the perfect way to finish my holiday.
The room was amazing, and had everything you would need. The bed was dangerously comfortable!
I cannot wait to return next year and ill definitely be staying here again!

  • Loved the pink lady-taxi, she was highly pleased with the good description from the airport. Drove up to Clare's house like every day. Cosy little family, wonderful for my stop-over, highly appreciated the luxury after the rainforest in Africa! Thanks for your time and stories!

  • Clare and Gary were both incredibly helpful and sweet. They called me a cab, fed me a good breakfast, helped me with the laundry, and with moving my heavy bags. The room was perfectly clean, and well equipped with, inter alia, bottled water, power converters, toiletries and a baggage weighing scale. I was very impressed by a pre-printed sheet that had small tips, instructions and the wifi password!! The directions to the house were perfectly clear and cab drivers understand them very well. My friends had a little difficulty in getting to the place since they did not understand the landmarks and refused to follow directions-so, yeah, follow the directions! I also made a few phone calls using the internet and had no issues at all-just stick to the end of the room with the table if you have a device with a weak wifi radio and it'll work like a charm.

    Response from Clare:

So glad you enjoyed your stay and found everything you needed, Davesh! I'm glad our internet co-operated with you during your stay and worked well enough to do what you needed. It was our pleasure to host you and you are welcome back anytime. I'm glad to have feedback about the directions to our place - we are confident that with directions we are easy to locate but Dubai can be a confusing place as it changes so often! I hope your onward flight went smoothly.

  • I enjoyed my time in Dubai staying with Clare & Gary, who were great hosts concerned about ensuring I had a comfortable stay. The room is exactly as described and looks quite luxurious, with everything you could need - it feels like a hotel! Clare is very friendly, chatty and hospitable, and prepared a nice breakfast each day. There is an absolute tonne of reading material provided in the room about Dubai if you're ever lost for ideas, however, Clare was readily able to offer suggestions on sights and how to get around Dubai, and she helped me plan an itinerary for my two days there! She was also very responsive to messages before the stay and provided comprehensive notes on what to expect with the room, Dubai, etc. before I arrived. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend this place!

    Response from Clare:

Thanks, Jonathan, it's always great to see our guests enjoying themselves and feeling at home here :-) Next time you're passing through, you know where we are!

  • Clare and the family are great hosts and very knowledgeable about Dubai. I enjoyed a very relaxing stay and the breakfast was awesome. I thoughly recomend staying there if you get the chance !

  • It was my first time in Dubai, and I am really happy that I stayed in Bedouin & Breakfast, hosted by Clare and Gary.

I enjoyed all the help and recommendation they gave me. But the most important thing was their warmness and attention that made me feel at home the minute I have arrived.

The house is around 15 minutes from the airport which is really convenient if your stay is short. The room, bathroom and house are very clean and cosy. And as very nice detail is that they lend me a mobile phone, which was very useful in my case.

For all above I highly recommend them for anyone that visit Dubai

My husband Gary (British Zimbabwean) and I (British) have lived in Dubai for nearly 4 years. We love living in the United Arab Emirates and enjoy enabling our guests to see as many of its unique sights as possible during their stay, safely and smoothly. We have a son, age 7, and a crazy cat. We have hosted nearly 70 guests from all over the world in our two airbnb rooms. Most are in transit but often they leave wishing they'd stayed longer to explore - Dubai's charms often take our guests by surprise! While Gary works long office hours, I am at home and my son is at school. I enjoy the flow of people at my breakfast table, all with tales to tell (it seems taxi disasters are notorious the world over). As a small family we enjoy getting out and about in Dubai together - beaches, waterparks, meals, movies and parks. Our family vacations are always to beach resorts, and our favourite was Bang Tao beach in Phuket, Thailand. We have visited neighbouring countries like Oman and Sri Lanka several times. Gary plays guitar and loves firing up a good barbecue. We can't live without good food and company, access to a swimming pool (our son is part fish) and sunshine (we are solar-powered).
