Brixton is the coolest place in London right now and this flat is walking distance from the main attractions and the station, which will have you in Central London in less than 20 mins. We can lend you Oyster cards so that it simpler and cheaper to get around London.
The space is a spacious loft bedroom in a recently renovated Victorian terrace in a leafy part of Brixton. There's three skylights with blackout blinds, from which you can (just) see the iconic chimneys Battersea Power Station. We can add an extra single bed if you have a child with you and we're happy to have cots up there if you have a little one (or we have a travel cot of our own you can use).
The room has a bathroom next door with a showerbath and underfloor heating that is shared with Jack, a wonderful friend who lives with us. We will supply you with bath towels.
There is an open plan kitchen and lounge with four gas hobs, two electric ovens and a grill. There is also a dishwasher, a large fridge freezer and a washer/dryer. For breakfast we can arrange pastries and pain au chocolat as well as our selection of cereals, yoghurts and fruits. You can make toast in our lovely bright red toaster and there are a selection of spreads. There is a red kettle, with a large selection of teas. And we also have a stove-top espresso maker and a cafetiere for coffee lovers.
In the lounge there is a 55 inch 3D TV with internet and Blu-Ray player. We have wi-fi throughout the house, as well as ethernet connection at the desk in the loft bedroom. There's a selection of board games including Farming and Settlers of Catan. We have a communal computer in the lounge as well as a Wii with Rock Band.
We have a paved garden with sun loungers if the weather is nice.
Nearby there is the lovely Brockwell Park and Brixton now boasts a huge selection of awesome cafe's and restaurants to suit every taste. Let us know what food you like and we'll point you in the right direction. For music lovers there's great gigs at the Brixton Academy, The Electric, Jamm, Hootenannys and DogStar. The Ritzy is a Brixton institution showing a great selection of films both mainstream and arthouse (We got engaged there!).
Brixton Tube (Underground) Station, which is on the Victoria Line, is either a 3 minute bus journey or 10 minute walk from the flat. From there it is 10 minutes to Oxford Circus and central London. You can get from Heathrow in under 1 hour on the Tube by taking the Piccadilly Line and changing at Green Park. From Gatwick you can take the Gatwick Express or a normal train (Slightly cheaper, a couple more stops) to Victoria Station and then it is about 6 minutes to Brixton on the Tube.
It's a no smoking house and we don't have any pets, though we have had well behaved ones here to stay.
Please make sure if you use the Oyster cards or SIM card that you don't leave them with a negative balance.
We generally take shoes off and leave them in the storage boxes by the front door.
Please leave the keys on the kitchen table when you leave and make sure you sign the guest book!
Other than that it's just like a home from home!
