Beatrice & Barbara were terrific, always in contact and very helpful. The apartment is in a great location, close to metro train and the local shop owners were happy to take the time for a chat and local info, we only spoke english to. Try the restaurant next door, very nice tucker.
Great and designed apartment in a peaceful but trendy area !
Bigger than expected. Perfect for 2, 3 or 4 people. Wifi, towels and biscuits included :)
Be careful with the heat in August. Summers can be really hot in Milan.
Special thanks to Denise, Beatrice's friend, who welcomed us.
Very nice apartment, with very good location!
Location - Very central, a quick walk to most attractions in Milan. Many bars, restaurants literally downstairs. Quick stroll to Corso Buenos Aires, which is longest shopping street in the world, full of high street brands. Very close to tram lines, with major metro stop Porto Venezia 5 minutes away.
Room - Bright and cosy. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, with many many towels. Beatrice even provided fruit, wine, several pastries, and some condiments, if you feel like having a meal in.
Host - very responsive, even bringing us a fan when we asked for one! Called multiple times to check up on us. Very friendly, giving us tips and guides on what to do/where to go in Milan.
- Up five flights of stairs, so make sure you're fit enough to climb!
- Can get stuffy, especially in summer, as it is the top floor.
Unfortunately there is not much that we can say which would cast a positive light on our stay.
The pictures make this place look amazing, but it certainly failed to live up to expectation. We arrived precisely on time as instructed by Beatrice, but she did not meet us there and sent someone in her place who did not speak any English at all which consequently prevented timely check in as we were not certain that anyone was in the apartment or if it was even the correct apartment. Once inside there could be no explanation of where the dishwasher or washing machine were. This was not only due to a language barrier but also to the fact that the person that met us at the apartment did not know where they were located.
The apartment was a loft apartment, obviously on the top level. In short it was stiflingly hot and there was no fan or airconditioning to assist. The listing also indicates that 4 people could comfortably stay in the apartment, however, there was only 1 mattress and 2 beds which were seperate and on wheels which meant that they rolled along the floor as you moved in bed at night.
The water pressure in the shower was dreadful with barely a trickle coming out of it. Last but not least, in the main bed, there was a considerable amount of cat or dog hair on the sheets and dirty dishes in the cupboard that needed to be washed prior to being used.
Having said all of that, Beatrice did try and check in with us a number of times to ensur that everything was alright. The apartment was also located in a very convenient location.
I want to give an answer:.
1-The photos of the apartment are realistic (made by Airbnb). It's all explained in detail and illustrated with photos.
2-Antonella, a dear friend of mine checked in because I was not in Milan. Antonella takes care of the house from long time and knowsS all the space. It 's impossible that she did not know where was the washing machine! She also welcomed our first guests. They left a great review and left on the dining table a beautiful rose and a nice note with many thanks for me. Antonella does not speak English, it is true, but in general I organize the check in this way (when I am not in Milan): I phone to Antonella (or Denise, she speacks english) when the guest is in the house and, I explay, in English, everything. I ask if the guests have questions about the apartment and solve the problems, if there are any .. In addition, I am always reachable by phone or email (even at night, if the guests lose the key and they do not know how to enter...). I have called the guest many times in the following days and I do not have any answers. Why? I wanted only to make sure everything was fine but they did not give me any answers.
3-the double bed is not a mattress but a futon sits on a wooden base and not on the mattress (also visible in the picture) For the bed sofa:Antonella has perfectly explained how the guets had to open the 2nd bed (pull out the legs of the sofa bed). the guets did not open the legs and the bed rolled...
4- on the website Airbnb was, in may, clearly specified: in the house there is not a air conditioning. However, it was enough to call me because in the basement we have 2 fans(and now we have also air conditioning).
5- came a guest with a dog shortly before (with a little dog).We accept little animals. The house has been cleaned immediately after their departure, of course, and the guy who cleans put clean sheets. We are very careful to clean. Everything was resolved only responding to my many calls, messages and e-mails.
We had the best time in Milano in this perfectly located and nice apartment! Beatrix was not able to meet us, but she was very easy to reach on email, sms and phone and her friend came and let us in and explained us everything about the apartment. Beatrix gave us some very great tips for restaurants, sights and shopping in the area, which where very helpful! She had bought us fruit and wine and we felt that we where very welcome. I will definitely try to stay in Beatrix apartment when I go back to Milan!
