No parties, smoking inside apartment, loud music, etc.
Basic common sense.
The apartment had a terrific location and was everything we expected. Carlos was very helpful. The only disappointment was the lack of sound isolation, and the noisy neighbours kept us awake till 2am
The apartment was exactly as described - in the best part of the Lower East Side and incredibly clean and most important its super quiet.
The area is vibrant, lively, in walking distance to many restaurants, cool bars, Soho, Union Square etc and we didn't want to leave.
Carlos was a great host who responded to many of our queries super quick.
I would highly recommend this apartment for someone wanting to explore the LES.
Carlos' apartment is in a great part of Manhattan - the East Village. Great area for restaurants/coffee shops. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and Carlos was very helpful and informative throughout.
Carlos' apartment is in a great part of Manhattan - the East Village has so much going for it with a huge array of restaurants/coffee shops and an easy 10 minute walk to the subway. The apartment itself was as described, clean and easily accessible and Carlos was very helpful in both pre-arrival and during our stay. The apartment is in an old building (as you'd expect in East Village) so it's smallish but plenty of space for two people and their luggage. The kitchen is fine for breakfast/coffee but you wouldn't plan to cook a big meal (and with so many restaurants around why would you?). A great spot to discover the non-touristy areas of Manhattan.
Carlos is a perfect host! Carlos è un ospite perfetto! Casa assolutamente ok e quartiere stupendo!
He is present whenever you need but you have your total privacy and you feel like home.
The house is cosy and very well furnished. You can enjoy also its precious pieces of modern design. Absolutely clean and bright. Bed is perfect, the kitchen and toilette too.
We have no complain. It is with no lift but it is at second floor so you can do it easily. And the silence is total!
Windows are very nice.
The floor in wood let you walk (website hidden) has a lot of channel and the coach is big and very comfortable.
Do not have a bad impression from the building, because you change idea as you come in the apartment.
And we have to say that it is very romantic too.
Neighborhoods are young and nice. No too much noise.
The quartier is lovely and vital, Mogador restaurant has been our second home. It is just beside the building door.
Thanks Carlos! Say ciao to Sarah : )
Lovely apartment, wonderful location, Carlos was a great and attentive host - Fully recommend!
About the Host, Carlos
Born and raised in the city of Chicago, Carlos studied business communication at the University of Illinois. After graduation he realized his passion for advertising would best be fulfilled by studying Art Direction at the Miami Ad School. Many Photoshop days later, an internship at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, a few years at Deutsch, Carlos was charged with helping integrate the digital and traditional account of FedEx; Initially at Atmosphere BBDO, then at BBDO New York.
After 2 years of making apps, rich media units, online shows, micro-sites, brand channels, and some unconventional stuff on Flickr and eBay, it was time to move on: After his first year at JWT Carlos managed to produce 10 commercials, most of which were for Microsoft Bing. He was a lead creative on the global account for Royal Caribbean with a new campaign to launch in 2012. Moving on to beer accounts (Which he much prefers), he ran the Dos Equis account for 2 years before jumping into the freelance world where he currently is today.
Carlos is an avid traveler and documenter of life. Traveling to over 60 countries, he enjoys being reminded that life is a wonderful thing.
He also collects matchbooks, commission’s paintings, is a host for networking parties, will start his own company and has a weird obsession with the number 37
