ABOUT THE LOCATION:
Our townhome is in the heart of the Lakeshore The Southshore District just across from the Floating Boardwalk that connects to Congress. We are less than 300 feet from Lady Bird Lake, next door to the Break Point at the Boardwalk Food Truck Court. Kayaking and SUP's (stand up paddle boards) can be rented just across the street.
Great location if you want to skip getting a rental car during your stay. We are in the Car2Go service area which makes getting around different parts of Austin extremely easy.
ABOUT THE ROOM:
Our guest room is always ready so can typically be available last minute. The guest room has a modern very comfortable queen sized platform bed with plenty of pillows. We also have an alarm clock/radio with Ipod dock, and outlets that charge usb devices. The guest room has a large closet with hangers. The large window overlooks the rear parking area that backs to a green wooded area & creek that leads to lady bird lake and has a partial view of the lake to the east.
If you decide to stay with us in our guest room you can expect fresh locally roasted coffee, and you can help yourself to anything in our fully stocked kitchen. We also have a GreenStar Juicer to make all sorts of fresh juices with.
ABOUT THE HOUSE:
Our unit is directly in front of the courtyard pool so it boasts a nice pool view. Downstairs we have a very open floor plan with stained concrete floors. Our kitchen is open to the living room with a pool view from the living room.
Our kitchen boasts a side by side refrigerator with water and ice, a professional european gas stove, stainless steel pans, Bosch dishwasher, and all the tools that a chef or a savvy cook could need.
Upstairs we have a full size high efficiency Bosch washer and dryer that have an awesome 20 minute cycle to quickly get those clothes clean.
Upstairs we have a large shared bathroom with bathtub. Hot water here is endless thanks to 2 large gas boilers in the community.
Emo's East and Buzz Mill 24 hour coffee, beer, & music bar are on our street visible from our complex and just a couple minutes walk.
For restaurant's you can walk to Taco More, Arandina's, Draft Pick Bar & Restaurant, Mariscos Seafood, Baby Acapulcos, El Taquito. Break Point at the Boardwalk Food Trailer Court includes such trailers as Garbo's Lobster Roll, Oyama Taco's, Fortune Snow Cups, BBQ Trailer, Wright Bro's soft serve ice cream and more. We are also close to the H.E.B. Grocery store and directly across from Hosteling International Hostel.
We are east of Congress Avenue along Lady Bird Lake so one of our best features is watching the famous Congress Avenue Bridge bat colony fly directly overhead every evening. The bats become active in mid-March but become ever more active the hotter it gets here, so enjoy the cool breeze from the lake and watch the bats fly over head.

Bus: 1 way is $1.00, all day pass $2.00. You can take a 7 minute bus ride on the number 7, 20, or 100 to congress and riverside. These busses run every few minutes and the bus stop is just a couple minutes walk from our townhouse.
Best though about the bus is that you can take the bus from the airport to our house. Just one bus, just $1.00.
Cab: To 6th Street and Congress is about $7.00 dollars depending on who you call. We usually like Austin Cab.
Bike: Use one of our bikes and be just about anywhere downtown in less than 15 minutes.
Walk: We're right along the lake so just walk along the lake to downtown.

There are smoking areas outside.
We didn't get to meet Steven, but Victor hosted us in his absence and was a really warm, generous and accommodating host. The place is lovely in a great location and I'd absolutely recommend them to others.
Steven answered our call and though he was not at the unit explained it had been left open for us. Victor was in the home many mornings and nights and he is a very kind and gracious man. Steven's sister and mom gave us restaurant ideas that were right on especially the Buzz Mill for casual barbecue. Our bedroom and bath were nice and clean and a bit spartan. We suggested an addition of a chest of drawers and bike helmets. It was wonderful to use the bikes and the location is wonderful with the lake and river less than a block away.l We enjoyed eating breakfast outside at the adjacent dog run area and brought our coffee and bagel out there. The location is beautiufl and nice and quiet yet conveninet to town, bike trails, and major roads.
This space was conveniently located to everything we wanted/needed to do in Austin. We were traveling through just for 1 evening/night, so we had a rental car, and it was nice to have a place to park on-site. The location is also convenient to the airport. The hosts got back to us in a timely manner and were flexible when our plans changed a week before our stay. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, but the rest of the space was not as much. There was not any soap or toilet paper in the bathroom, and there were dirty dishes in the kitchen sink, and leftover food on the counter. There was not any coffee or fully stocked kitchen as listed in the description. We had to catch flights at 5:30 a.m., so the coffee would have been helpful! Had we stayed longer I would have contacted the hosts about this. If the weather was nicer it would have been great to use the pool -- it was literally steps outside the door!
Lena, Im sorry to read you were unhappy with your stay. I take pride in being a good accommodating host, I even altered your reservation twice for you at your request. You rented my guest room, not my entire house. With that being said, I live there and sometimes there are dishes in my sink. As for coffee, there are a few kinds in my cabinet to the right of the sink with the french press ready to be brewed, and my kitchen is quite stocked. Additionally, Victor personally handed you soap, and we have a whole stash of toilet paper in the cabinet. If you couldn’t find something all you had to do was ask, but you didn't say anything while you were there.
This was my first airbnb experience. The host was very helpful and friendly, the place was nice and tidy enough. Having access to two bikes was quite a boon, because the location was reasonably close (and a pretty nice bikeride) to downtown Austin (if you're going to south congress beware that it's uphill tho :P).
Had a great stay, felt like our own home. Good location with some restaurants and coffee shop around the corner. Quick lyft to the downtown/nightlife areas.
Host had some good tips on where to go out at night
We really liked staying at Steven's house. We found it clean and the location was great for us. If you like walking you take the new river walk and get to downtown from his house. We will definetly go back to his house next time we go back to Austin.

I was born in Aruba while my parents were practicing naturopathic medicine on the island and i've had the opportunity to live throughout the U.S. and choose Austin as my home.
I enjoy red wine, good local beer, trailer food, kayaking, rowing and I try to travel to at least 1 new country each year. In Austin I work as a Realtor with a focus on modern properties and I love to show off my city.
Austin is an amazing city with so much to offer including social bike rides, titty bingo, Alamo Drafthouse, community gardens, world class restaurants, secret beach spots, awesome hiking & biking trails, and so much more.
I and my patner thoroughly enjoy being host's on airbnb. We can provide you with an endless amount of suggestions for things to do and places to eat, or leave you completely to your own devices. We strive to ensure our guests have what they need and that they get what they want and more out of their visit to Austin.
