House - Private room · Tinnin Ford Rd, Austin, TX 78741, United States

The Space

ABOUT THE LOCATION:

Our townhome is in the heart of the Lakeshore master planned community also referred to as The Southshore District. We are less than 300 feet from Lady Bird Lake, next door to the Break Point at the Boardwalk Food Trailer Court. Kayaking and SUP's (stand up paddle boards) can be rented just 300 feet away and we can give you directions to a great little hidden sandy beach nearby that only locals know about.

Great location if you want to skip getting a rental car during your stay. We are in the Car2Go service area which makes getting around different parts of Austin extremely easy.

ABOUT THE ROOM:

Our guest room is always ready so can typically be available last minute. The guest room has a modern very comfortable queen sized platform bed with plenty of pillows. We also have an alarm clock/radio with Ipod dock, and outlets that charge usb devices. The guest room has a large closet with hangers. The large window overlooks the rear parking area that backs to a green wooded area & creek that leads to lady bird lake and has a partial view of the lake to the east.

If you decide to stay with us in our guest room you can expect fresh locally roasted coffee, and you can help yourself to anything in our fully stocked kitchen. We also have a GreenStar Juicer to make all sorts of fresh juices with.

ABOUT THE HOUSE:

Our unit is directly in front of the courtyard pool so it boasts a nice pool view. Downstairs we have a very open floor plan with stained concrete floors. Our kitchen is open to the living room with a pool view from the living room.

Our kitchen boasts a side by side refrigerator with water and ice, a professional european gas stove, stainless steel pans, Bosch dishwasher, and all the tools that a chef or a savvy cook could need.

Upstairs we have a full size high efficiency Bosch washer and dryer that have an awesome 20 minute cycle to quickly get those clothes clean.

Upstairs we have a large shared bathroom with bathtub. Hot water here is endless thanks to 2 large gas boilers in the community.

NEARBY:

Emo's East and Buzz Mill 24 hour coffee, beer, & music bar are on our street visible from our complex and just a couple minutes walk.

For restaurant's you can walk to Taco More, Arandina's, Draft Pick Bar & Restaurant, Mariscos Seafood, Baby Acapulcos, El Taquito. Break Point at the Boardwalk Food Trailer Court includes such trailers as Garbo's Lobster Roll, Oyama Taco's, Fortune Snow Cups, BBQ Trailer, Wright Bro's soft serve ice cream and more. We are also close to the H.E.B. Grocery store and directly across from Hosteling International Hostel.

We are east of Congress Avenue along Lady Bird Lake so one of our best features is watching the famous Congress Avenue Bridge bat colony fly directly overhead every evening. The bats become active in mid-March but become ever more active the hotter it gets here, so enjoy the cool breeze from the lake and watch the bats fly over head.

  • This was my second time staying with Steven. Again, it was comfortable, clean and a restful place to stay. Steven is easy-going and friendly.

  • Steven and Victor were fantastic hosts for the entire month that I lived in with them. I was on a rotation for school and they were super accommodating to anything that I needed. The space was clean and they were very understanding when I had to get up and leave everyday at 5 am. They even went out of their way on many occasions to invite me to have dinner with them at the house. Victor is a fantastic cook!! I will definitely stay with them again in the future while visiting ATX!

  • Steven accepted my request within 5 minutes of sending it. He was quite helpful and has a great place. Very clean, comfortable and great location.
This would be my go-to place for Austin. Highly recommended.

  • Steven and Viktor were amazing hosts - very welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. They live in a beautiful community that is very close to everything in Austin. They even provide bikes for use - sadly we didn't have time to use them!

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them and would recommend their place to anyone without hesitation.

  • Could not have asked for a better host or locale for our 6 day trip. Nice private room. Lots of tips for enjoying our first time in Austin. Saved us a ton of $ on renting a car. Decided to forego car rental for first few days because they let us use their bicycles to ride all over town, and they live in such a great place most anything we wanted to see was within bike riding distance, and a beautiful ride taboot. We rented a car for the weekend only for a $9.99/day rate, a deal Steven told us about. They gave us a guide for enjoying vegan food in Austin. Told us about the best place EVER to eat, Casa De Luz! Austin/TX guides and mags on the nightstand. Directed us to a few great choices for day trips and we chose one and were delighted. Thoughtful. Helpful. Friendly. We will be back. Thanks guys!!! You Rock!

  • This is my first time every doing (website hidden) boyfriend and I decided to just give it a shot! I honestly didnt know much about it but I gave it a try. I would imagine it to be awkward but Steven and Victor were so welcoming. Steven responded within 24 hours and everything was smooth sailing. We told them our eta and Victor greeted us with a big old smile. He is such a lovely and friendly person. Right away he gave us a tour and answered all of our questions and even gave us suggestions on what to do. He took his time to show us where to go on his (website hidden) maps. He is honestly the cutest thing ever! The place is nice and not to mention SUPER clean. The bedroom we stayed put was really clean and the bed was comfortable, it was hard for us to get out in the morning. Each morning Victor/Steven would great us and help us with suggestions on what to do. They even let us use their bikes which there is a lake trail literally right behind their apartment. It is also really close to downtown. They are honestly very friendly and southern hospitality sums up our whole trip. We were sad we could not say goodbye to them. They are very laidback! It was a great experience!

  • Arrived fairly late after driving from Albuquerque but still wanted to see the night life (on a Monday unfortunately). Steven suggested Rainey Street which had tons of bars open until 2AM and also some live music. The overall stay was excellent and definitely plan to return for a longer stay in the future.

  • My boyfriend James and I stayed with Steven and Victor in their Austin home for nine days. The apartment is warm, clean, well-designed and full of modern appliances. It is centrally located in an up and coming neighbourhood, easy walking distance to plenty of great restaurants. We borrowed the bikes and spent our first day riding around the lake, which was lovely. Our hosts really went out of their way to make us feel at home. They even invited us to their thanksgiving lunch, for which we are very grateful. James and I had an amazing time in Austin, and couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

About
I was born in Aruba while my parents were practicing naturopathic medicine on the island and i've had the opportunity to live throughout the U.S. and choose Austin as my home. I enjoy red wine, good local beer, trailer food, kayaking, rowing and I try to travel to at least 1 new country each year. In Austin I work as a Realtor with a focus on modern properties and I love to show off my city. Austin is an amazing city with so much to offer including social bike rides, titty bingo, Alamo Drafthouse, community gardens, world class restaurants, secret beach spots, awesome hiking & biking trails, and so much more. I and my patner thoroughly enjoy being host's on airbnb. We can provide you with an endless amount of suggestions for things to do and places to eat, or leave you completely to your own devices. We strive to ensure our guests have what they need and that they get what they want and more out of their visit to Austin.
