About this listing
Our house is a 5 bedroom Victorian semi detached house. It's in a quiet residential area of Bath with a suburban feel. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to and from the city centre. It is down hill into town and a steep uphill coming home.
This is a small double room with a small double bed (1.4m wide). It is next door to its own bathroom. They are both at the end of a corridor so you have plenty of privicy.
Guests have access to their room and bathroom as well as having full use of the kitchen if required at any time. Feel free to help yourself to tea/coffee at any time and make full use of the kitchen if you like. There will be tea and coffee in your room also.
A cold buffet breakfast will be laid out for you in the kitchen in the morning to which you help yourselves. You can take this back to your room if you prefer - which is what we tend to do (being the lazy sort of people we are in the mornings!!)
Interaction with Guests
You will be sharing the house with just the two owners and possibly two other guests in the other room if we have booked that room as well.
We tend to give our guests as much privacy as possible but are normally available for advice or a chat if required. We seem to see our guests mostly around breakfast time.
On the Bear Flat at the top of our road there are a few small shops, take-away pizza, and Indian restaurant and restaurant attached to the Bear Hotel. Amongst the shops there is "Rolfy's" which is an antique/bric-a-brac shop which is difficult to walk past without getting drawn in at least for a browse. There is also a fine dining restaurant ("Menu Gordon Jones") which generally requires booking well in advance.
There is easy walking access to the city centre. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to and from the city centre. It is down hill into town and uphill (steep but scenic) coming home.
There is free unrestricted parking in our road. You can normally park within 50m of our house.
There are two buses that pass the end of our road from the city centre (13 & 14). Take the 13 in the Foxhill direction or the 14 in the Odd Down direction. You get off at the "Bear Flat" stop (which the driver will know).
Taxis to and from the city centre are about £7
Other Things to Note
We provide towels and toiletries.
There is a hair dryer in the room.
We have (fibre) wireless internet you can use.
There is also a small garden where you can sit out (if we ever get the weather for it).
We may be able to pick guests up from Heathrow or Bristol AIrport by prior arrangement. This would have to be agreed after/during the booking process.
None except be nice, be happy, enjoy. :)
