Please plan on checking-in before 10 PM on your first night.
We have a lovely porch and patio which guests are welcomed to use.
Kitchen access is limited to breakfast. If you would like to use the kitchen at other times, please set that up in advance of your stay.
Interaction with Guests
Because we are retired, we are around the house a great deal. Guests can choose to hang out with us or not....we're pretty casual.
We have a beautiful backyard with flowering shrubs and flowers, the front of the house overlooks a pond and the bedroom overlooks beautiful woods. It's a quiet suburban neighborhood, but instead of being surrounded by other houses, we have beautiful views all around
You really do need a car. The commuter rail is about 2 miles away, and the T (Green Line) is about 6 miles away. We are very close to MA Pike (90), Route 9 and Rte 95.
Other Things to Note
If guests need to be out early in the AM, we might not be able to serve them breakfast, but will leave them everything they need to make their own breakfast including coffee, tea, cereal, bagels, fruit, etc. We will also review "the lay of the land" in the kitchen so they know where everything is kept.
Please check-in on your first night by 10 PM.
Respectful of others. Quiet after 11PM. No pets or smoking in the house.
Lisa and Tom welcomed this weary traveler with open arms, a friendly smile and a hot cup of tea. Room was great and the home is beautiful. It exceeded my expectations.
Lisa and Tom were both there to welcome us to their home and made us tea. The room was comfortable and quiet, the house lovely. Our stay was short, but it was just what we needed.
I was very welcome at Lisa and Tom's home. Very accommodating. Tom bot a variety of good things for breakfast. Lovely setting overlooking a pond. There were two full bathrooms, one on first floor and one on 2nd floor. Lots of good lighting in the room, which also had a big-screen TV.
Lisa and Tom were so welcoming when I arrived tired from an all-day conference in the next town over. The room was very cozy and I was very comfortable there. Thanks for inviting me to eat my take- out with you when you too were having dinner. You are lovely hosts!
Lisa and Tom were wonderful hosts, and really made me feel at home. The home itself is quite beautiful, with large windows everywhere looking out at forest and a pond. My room had a great view and a rocker set up to enjoy it. I felt as if I was visiting family, because of how relaxed and welcoming the visit felt. Lisa showed me everything I might need in the kitchen, and told me to feel free to help myself if I got up early. Comfy bed, good food, great conversation...a very happy visit. Thanks!
Lisa and Tom were wonderful hosts, and we immediately felt welcomed in their home. Their place is clean, inviting, and in a lovely wooded area. I'd definitely recommend Lisa and Tom to anyone looking for a calm, quiet and cozy accommodation just outside of the city.
Our stay at the home of Tom and Lisa was relaxed and enjoyable. I felt that we all tried to be considerate of each other during our stay. We enjoyed getting to know them and appreciated their assistance and sensitivity. The accommodations were cozy and the neighborhood quiet. We would be delighted to stay with them again if we find ourselves in the Boston area.

Tom & Lisa, mid 60s, retired. Two kids, one launched, the other a recent college graduate who is working full time and living with us.
Tom is a retired computer software engineer and 'master' bass (electric) player. Lisa worked in administration in the clinical trials industry. We're pretty regular folks. Lisa spends her time going to the pool daily, looking after her 94 year old mother and auditing classes at Wellesley College. Tom's been giving bass lessons, gigging and teaching Jazz History at a couple of Lifetime Learning organizations. Tom's originally from Long Island, Lisa is from the Boston area...
