Unique experience in Puerto Rico! Sleep in a portaledge! To get to the portaledge you need to rock climb about 45 feet from the ground. You should be a rock climber to get this! You will have a panoramic view of the karstic mountains and Cibuco River Valley. You should be a climber. The price is per two persons.

Typical tents placed in the ground and cave entrances nearby are also available for a lower price.

Snacks and water for purchase.

The space
This is the only place in the island where you can sleep in a cliff and secured. We will provide you with parking at a few steps of the area.

The Portaledge is 2-person tent specially built (Black Diamond) to hang it in the rock cliff. We will set it up for you along with a rope for top rope climbing. The rope will be set up at different but very close anchor from the portaledge’s anchor for additional safety precautions. It is located at about 35 feet from the ground. You and your partner should be both rock climbers, able to top rope belay esch other from the ground and also from the portaledge to go down again.

What’s included:

1- Portaledge Set up
2- Top Rope Set up to reach the Portaledge
3- Two pillows
4- Headlamps
5- Bathroom and Shower

7- One day of rock climbing entrance fee per person

What to bring to the portaledge:

1- If its summer-fall time it will be very nice to have a battery powered little fan. Although both sides of the portaledge have zippered doors and ventilation is good.
2- Bring water, snacks.. No Alcohol!!! of any kind.
3- The portaledge is hanging thus its not in the solid ground, you will not need a sleeping pad. You can bring a sleeping bag but again if its summer-fall time we can provide you with a bed sheet and that should be enough.
4- Bring headlamp or we can provide you with two. Your hands should be free of stuff, you will be climbing and belaying. A small daypack is more than enough.
5- Clothes, towel and other things that you will not be using at the portaledge can stay in your car or in a designated area. Car is 50 feet away from you or so. Bathroom is at less than 50 ft from you.

Our Quick Story:

We’re a happy and thankful couple, passionate outdoor people, naturalists, climbers and professionals in the area of geology and tourism, providing educational and outdoor adventure experiences for everyone.

Roca Norte, our place, was literally “created” by natural phenomenon hurricane María in 2017. We lived here before the hurricane but it wasn’t like this. Unbelievable or not we were already climbing guides when this happened! We will be very happy to tell this story with all the excitement It deserves!
