Dear Traveller, before you make a booking at the Loft please have a look at the reviews especially if it comes to location. We are not located in the old town but still it's easy to get to the city and from there around. Since location is also a part of your satisfaction with my apartment I would be grateful if you could read through the reviews. Even more easy is it if you check for The Embassy House Condominium in order to get a clear picture of the location.
Thank you :).

Cheers
Sabine

Sabine's place is great for a vacation. The unit has great sunset views, the sun dips behind the mountains. I loved coming back mid day for a cool swim, and watching the sunset before heading out to dinner. I took an Uber most places. 10 minute walk to the nearby fruit and flower market just over the bridge. The front desk helped arrange for laundry service. What a lovely place to come "home" to. The kitchen is stellar tho I never cooked anything on it. It has everything you could need. Believe the reviews - this place is a jewel!!

The apartment is gorgeous. That's the first thing. It is exactly how it looks in the photos. The view is great. I enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony every morning. The internet is fast and available. There are lots of big fluffy towels, the bed is comfy and there is loads of toilet paper (lots of hosts skimp on this!). I loved staying here and will come back!

Amazing open loft on the Ping river with aerial views of Chang Mai - tough to beat that! We rented a scooter (which you should do for your entire stay) and easily got anywhere we needed to be. This place is just outside the old city which we loved as you truly feel more like a local. Sabine was lovely to meet and communication was easy. I am an Airbnb host myself and was very impressed! Enjoy your stay :)

Sabines apartment is beautiful and spacious and the bed really comfortable although a little low for my old body to get out of. The bathroom is spacious and the walk in shower very easy to use. The views over the river and mountains are spectacular, watching the approaching weather from the balcony whilst drinking a cold beer was a highlight for me. I used the coffee machine every morning and whilst the number of restaurants around the area meant that we didn't actually cook, there is an induction cook top and all the necessary utensils to prepare anything should you wish to. We had dinner a few nights in a small local restaurant just over the river on the left with very cheap food. There is also a 7 11 a bit further on for very basic food items such as milk, bread and beer (yes, beer is a basic food :-) The apartment is a little far from the hub/centre of Chiang Mai. You can walk from ThaPae gate in about 20/25 mins or we got a tuk tuk most times for 100Thb. The staff in the condo are really helpful especially the guard who called the lift for us every time he saw us approach. He also arranged an early morning tuk tuk (6.30am) to the airport when we left as the airport taxi had to be booked before 4.00pm and we didn't Sabine gave us lot of information on arrival and responded quickly to any requests we had. Overall I would recommend Sabines apartment.

As others have mentioned, this is a very spacious and comfortable apartment with wonderful views. It's good to have Sabine in the building and, though there was a glitch with AIRBNB email messages not going through to her phone (only SMS's) she was very responsive. Another highlight: the apartment building staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved dealing with them. Also, with Max the condo's tuk tuk driver on call, who we called for longer runs (to the airport, to visit a museum north of town, etc.) We were in Chiang Mai for ten days. After almost three months on the road in Southeast Asia, we chose this AIRBNB because we were looking forward to cooking in our own kitchen and having a little extra space The only issue for us was the location. It was great being near the river and markets. But, I think we would have had a lot more fun staying in the Old City, a very sociable place with great eating and hanging out options. It's not that we minded the 25 minute walk into the Old City, it's just that we didn't want to walk in and out more than once a day and the transportation options were not great. Tuk-tuk drivers can be a big hassle (you just get really tired of negotiating and they tend to cost too much). And we gave up on flagging down songthaews or metered taxis. Just never saw them near the apartment. (Chiang Mai has no public buses, only a system of red songthaews. pick-up trucks that have two benches (no fixed routes. Instead, the first passenger to get in determines the route and they stop and drop off anyone, anywhere on their way.) If you are going to stay here, I would definitely recommend renting a bicycle.
