Made internationally famous by the 1960 film The World of Suzie Wong, historic Wan Chai is not just Hong Kong’s party district; by day it’s a pleasant neighbourhood for wandering and shopping.
Dotted along Queen's Road East are a number of excellent rattan and Chinese furniture shops that will happily arrange to have your purchases sent home for you or, for competitively priced clothing, try Spring Garden Lane where stalls offload garments originally earmarked for export. Techies won’t complain about getting lost in the Wanchai Computer Centre on Hennessy Road; a building jam-packed with hardware, software, accessories and other gadgets. And both kids and ‘kidults’ might want to check out Tai Yuen Street; an entire strip of toys touting everything from the latest to the classics.
There is convenient public transit.

Was very relieved that someone was able to meet us at 3am when we got in from a long day of travel and unexpected flight delays. This alone made us feel welcome. The apartment helped us learn a bit about what it would be like to live in Hong Kong. There wasn't a lot of space, but that's the standard. I think we were shocked by the bathroom at first, but ended up loving the shower experience once we got the hang of it( shower pressure and hear we're great). We didn't use the washer/dryer or any kitchen (website hidden) and Internet worked fine. We were traveling from china and didn't realize the plugs would be different (from both china and US). There was one converter and two hair dryers provided. Bring an additional converter if you think you'd need one; (we got by on 1 okay). The location of the apartment is very close to the MTR and this made getting around the city very easy. Also, there were two Hong Kong travel books in the TV drawer that we enjoyed reading. The neighborhood is loud throughout the night and early morning. I'm used to this from living in a city, but if you're not, you might want to find a more peaceful location (not in this neighborhood at all). All and all we enjoyed the stay and felt like we got to experience what it's actually like to live in Hong Kong.
The apartment was nice and very centrally located. Easy access to the MTR and ferry ports etc. Rooms were clean and well kept. The host was also very accommodating with check in and check out times. I would reccomend this flat to people visiting Hong Kong.
