Other Things to Note
Important to note that the place is not brand new! The plumbing is old, the floor is scuffed up, and the kitchen is not state of the art. Most guests find this charming, but for those looking for a flawless apartment, this one might not be for you.
Please no smoking inside the apartment.
Thanks so much!
We really loved staying here!! The apartment was spacious, clean and uniquely decorated- the vintage furnishings were favourites of ours!! The place was really conveniently located for us- close to the l-train, shops, restaurants and the bogart art precinct. We would definitely stay here again when in Brooklyn- the place has a really great inviting atmosphere!!
We had a great stay at John's apartment - it was really well located near to 2 L train stops, lots of great restaurants and coffee places. Getting in and out was easy and John was great at sending information and making everything run smoothly.
The apartment itself is on a nice quiet street, not a lot of kitchen utensils but then again there's so many restaurants near by you wouldn't cook much anyway. Neighbours are quiet.
Overall would definitely recommend staying here and would be more than happy to come back in the future.
John's apartment is a large, charming place in a great neighborhood. Close to the L train and steps away from all the spots in Bushwick.
John is an exemplary host. The apartment offers the full Bushwick experience, in that it's a little creaky: the toilet leaks, we had trouble with the door locks (which John sent someone to fix immediately) and had to leave the place open for a day, etc.
But in sum, big comfortable bed, relatively close to the L line, great host, and much local character.
Thank you Krzysztof for the kind words, and for pointing out that my place is not brand new. It would be good for potential guests to consider this when making a reservation: the plumbing is old (the toilet doesn't leak on the outside, but has a continuous trickling sound on its interior), the floors are old and scuffed up, the kitchen is not state of the art etc. Most people find this charming, but for potential guests who are expecting a flawless apartment, this might not be the place for you.
We had a great time in John's appartement. It looks like the pictures, it is clean and the neighbourhood is nice. Lots of good restaurants and coffeebars close to the appartement and the L-line metro to Manhattan is only 4 minutes away. John is a great host, although he was not in town.
We enjoyed our stay at Johns thoroughly vintage equiped Apartment. I personaly loved all the Synths and the Piano. The Appartment is a clean and quiet place and has a huge comfortable bed. John Was very helpfull although he wasnt near his responses were very fast and helpful, thanks for that John. The Area where Johns Apartment is located, has a lot of interesting corners and artistic people to discover, all in all a peaceful interesting area, we liked it. We definitely can recommend Johns Apartment!
Thank you very much!
John's apartment was perfect for me and my boyfriend. It's in Bushwick, a really nice area in Brooklyn, close to the L metro station, just few minutes walking. It was easy to reach the flat even with luggages from and to the airport. The apartment was silent during the night and a perfect place to rest after a full day walking all around the city. The three things that I appreciated most were that it was really clean (good smell, clean towels and linens), that the furniture was of good taste and vintage (perfectly corresponding to the pictures), that John was very communicative and helpful (he sent me keys by post and he gave me advice for the dinner). The neighborhood was perfect: many nice places to have dinner in the close by (my favorites: Cafe Ghia and Roberta's). We really enjoyed staying at John's place and we would definitely recommend it.
