Interaction with Guests
You will be able to ask any questions in the morning should you need to clarify any situations.
Although we are on a hill the house looks onto the Cathkin braes and the sky is lovely at night because we are on a small street with not too many street lights. The street is quiet.
The street is in the middle of two main roads where buses run into City centre every 10 minutes and across the Main Street the Trains run. The nearest buses ar just 3 minutes to the road and the train station is 8 minutes away.
We do not have alcohol on the premises and the house is non smoking, however if you are out socialising we are happy with this as long as the household is not disrupted by unacceptable behaviour on your return.
We have two small Bichon Frise dogs who are very friendly and love people particularly children and young people. Their coats are non allergetic and suitable for asthma sufferers.
We ask that you keep the bathroom tidy by keeping your towels and wash bags in your own room after use. There is a washing basket in the bathroom for used towels and we ask that as you use the towels you place them in the basket at the window to allow for cleaning.. This way we can wash and dry the towels quickly and the bathroom is kept tidy for everyone in the house.
Janie was really nice and her home are very big, clean and beautiful. She made traditional Scottish breakfast for us, we like it so much. She helped us to book taxi and recommen us a very good museum to go. Thank you so much. Very enjoy the time stay in her house.
Janie is the perfect host: she does everything within her reach to make sure her guests have the best experience possible. The house was spotlessly clean (our standards are very high), very comfortable (boiler, microwave, fridge and basic cutlery and dishes at our disposal, since the kitchen is not usable by guests), a wonderful breakfast with everything one might wish (and a beautiful layout to the table as well), very soft linens and pillows, just perfect! On top of all this, Jane is the sweetest lady, and tries hard to solve all possible travelling issues. We're very grateful. Would definitely recommend and return!
A home away from home is what this house is, warm room, hot shower and wonderfully home cooked breakfast coupled that with a pleasant and gracious host, what more can one ask for? Definitely a B&B place worth staying in Glasgow, 100% worth recommending to anyone.
Janie was a great host.
She contacted me long before our journey really started and provided a lot information about how to get to her place, what to see (which were really great hints) and also asked us what we want for breakfast.
Our room was big enough for 2 or 3 people and we had two separated beds (that was perfect, because this time I haven't been on holidays with my girlfriend, but with a friend). We had our own bathroom and also WIFI which was everything we needed. ;-)
The breakfast - we asked for typically Scottish - was more than enough and also on the last day, though we left very early, she arranged the breakfast table nicely.
Once you know the Glasgow bus schedules it's easy and not far from a bus station to get to Janie's house.
Summed up we really enjoyed our stay at Janie's and would thank again for her hospitality!
Janie was amazing! She was very welcoming and friendly, and tried to make our stay as painless as possible. When we asked where the nearest Laundromat was, she offered to do our laundry for us, which was completely unexpected!
She also tailored her Scottish breakfast to our temperaments and schedule, which was very, very welcome!
The location was far enough away from town that we had quiet evenings, but the bus ride was short enough that we were able to enjoy Glasgow downtown each night we stayed. (We took the 18 bus, which seemed like a pretty straight shot!)
Everything was good!!Janie was very considerately, warmhearted and helpfully!!She ordered a taxi for us to get back to the airport and gave us other helpful tips because it was our first trip to scotland.I would willingly book again!!
And thank you Janie for our first black pudding ;-)
We had a fantastic stay at Jane's lovely house in Glasgow. The house is beautifully kept and we were very well looked after. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through Gladgow
I live in Glasgow with my Son, in the house which is in a quiet part of Glasgow.
Personally I enjoy meditation, visualisation and paint in oil, pastels, and encaustic art, which is beeswax (coloured) and melted on a hot iron and the design placed on special paper.
I host creative writing groups which are really therapy groups using writing.
I help people who like to help themselves, and do this through running one to one sessions and group sessions sometimes at the house. I use Creative Writing, making pastels and encaustic art pictures, Visualisation,Reiki, EFT and NLP.
I hold weekend retreats for people wanting to visit Glasgow and have a relaxed place to stay at the same time.
We are an alcohol and smoking free house, however, I don't object to people drinking alcohol when they go out socially provided they don't disrupt the house when returning.
We are easy going and friendly trying to enjoy life on life's terms.
