My apartment, where I live with two cats and work, it's a very cozy and artistic one, located in an ancient and very old typical milanese building, in the famous Porta Venezia neighborhood: it's a wonderful location for short trips: two blocks from Corso Buenos Aires-Porta Venezia famous shopping area, 20 minutes walking (or 3 metro stops) to piazza del Duomo, 20 min from Stazione Centrale (train and airport shuttle terminal), 15 min walk from piazza Gae Aulenti, Porta Nuova and Bosco verticale. Downstairs there are a lot of nice bar and restaurants, artisan shops and supermarkets.
At the entrance there is a shared kitchen (20 sqm/215 sqft) and
there is a small green terrace where, in the good season, is possible to eat en dehor.
Internet available with wi fi connection.
Fresh towels and bed sheets, soap and toothpaste.
In the morning I offer many kind of teas and coffee, biscuits.
Check out is at 10. If you need more, please tell me when you book: in case another guest is coming the same day I will check if it is possible to stay more.
Interaction with Guests
I welcome the guests, I always ask what they need, I give tourist information and tips for the evening (I was born in Milan and I know very well my town).
Porta Venezia is one of the best neighborhood of Milano. Less know to tourists than Navigli area, but probably more interesting for us. There is the big shopping street Corso Buenos Aires, and all around a full of life neighborhood, with restaurants for every poket, from every geographic origin, for every taste.
It's also a gay friend area.
Porta Venezia is one of the most central neighborhood in Milano, there is the metro red line, the Passante ferroviario (a train), many trams. See my guide for restaurants and supermarket.
Other Things to Note
There are two cats in the house.
There is no air conditioning, but a fan.
The room has a door with no locker.
How to get to my house
From Linate Airport:
Bus n. 73 o X73 till Piazza S. Babila. Then Metro Red line for 2 stops till Porta Venezia.
From Malpensa Airport:
From Terminal 1, Malpensa Express train till Cadorna. Then Metro Red line for 6 stops till Porta Venezia .
From Terminal 2, Shuttle bus to Stazione Centrale.
From Bergamo (Orio al Serio) Shuttle Bus to Stazione Centrale
From Stazione Centrale:
In front of the Statiom, Piazza Duca d’Aosta, take tram n. 5 direction ORTICA for 4 stops.
You should lift the trolleys and take off your shoes. You cannot epilate yourself in the shower: the plug will clog up.
Please close your room door while you are in or while you are out, to skip the cats.
We only had an opportunity to stay one night in Milan, so a very short trip.
Maria was an excellent host who provides a large room and a bathroom in her very cozy and homely apartment. Maria was very generous and went above expectations providing linen and snacks on arrival as well as some coffee/tea and biscuits for breakie.
We enjoyed our little stay in Milan and would definitely return to stay with Maria and recomend this place to others!
Awesome and cozy place to stay:) transportations are very close. Cats are very friendly! Made my Milan trip awesome. Thank you Maria
Maria a été très accueillante, la chambre est très agréable et bien placé dans Milan. Petit paradis dans Milan. Je recommande!!
We had a very nice stay in Milan, the place was as advertised. It was easy to find and easy to go around the city with the underground station near by. You are on the direct line to Expo 2015 and also to the center of Milan (even if you can reach it by walking). Everything was clean, the access to the bathroom in the room was a big plus. It's a very nice house with a lot of charm. Maria was very nice, helpful and made us feel welcomed when we arrived. If we were to come back in Milan, it would be our first choice for a place to stay.
We stayed at Maria's for only a night, but she made us feel so good we regret not staying more days. She welcomed us at late night (our train was delayed more than 30 minutes), told us what to do and not to do (basically to keep her awesome brushed wooden floor) and gave us fresh water and juice, along with cookies! Her room was very tidy and the bathroom too. Overall a wonderful experience, definitely going there again if we go to Milan next time.
For Milan trip i could'n ask more. Perfect city and perfect host/place making it even better. Maria'a apartment is on great spot, metro is 1 minute walk, neighbourhood looks great, with markets, nice restaurants and cafes. Apartment and building looks beautiful, very cosy, with private bathroom, everything you could possibly need. In other words perfect Airbnb experience. Totally recommend Maria's place.
