Guests keep coming back

Many guests return for repeat stays, praising the thoughtful details and well-equipped kitchen
Camp Howard, built in 2018, was designed to blend modern luxury into the expansive nature of Nason Ridge. The home sits 2000 feet above sea level, perched on top of 5 acres of ponderosa forest in the foothills of Cashmere mountain. The rarities of the Pacific Northwest are a short drive away: Alpine skiing 25 minutes to the west at Stevens Pass, Bavarian treats 20 minutes south in Leavenworth, and recreation at Lake Wenatchee just moments north.

The space
The 1600 square foot home bathes in natural light from sweeping floor to ceiling windows throughout the living space. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a private TV lounge create enough space for 4 to comfortably enjoy this mountain retreat. The huge sliding glass doors welcome the outdoors in, opening to our large deck perfect for outdoor dining or quiet mornings with coffee and a view. A barrel sauna and fire pit are located steps from the property next to the two-car carport.
You will have the entire house to yourself. Guests access the property using a lockbox. Check in is at 4PM, check out is at 11AM.

Other things to note
We've got two Ring cameras on the exterior of the property, one above the carport and a Ring doorbell camera. These help us keep monitor conditions up in Leavenworth, keep the steps clear for guests, and aid with guest arrivals should any issues arise. We intentionally angle our devices away from the living spaces to ensure guests’ privacy.

Neighborhood highlights

The Nason View Estates are 40 acres of private, minimally developed land with a backdrop of hundreds of protected acres of the Okanogan-Wenatchee forest. There are protected trails on state-owned land directly adjacent to the property ripe for exploring on a hike or a mountain bike excursion.

Things to do

Our favorite thing to do at Camp Howard is cozy up with a good book, a cup of coffee (or a hot toddy), and enjoy the mountain views with the fire crackling in the background. But for those more adventurous than us, there are plenty of things to do around the property and down in Leavenworth.

For a quick outing, the Squirrel Tree Inn just down the road has a happy hour from 3-6. Just across from Squirrel Tree you’ll find the 59er Diner. Their milkshakes are delicious as advertised.
There is a system of forest service roads that picks up right off of Snowshoe Ln by the house. Hike to the left for an uphill challenge, or head to the right and enjoy a level stroll in the woods which opens up to the Squirrel Tree 2 miles down the road. Stop for a drink to take the edge off the hike back.

Wildflour is a great option for dinner nearby. They’re on the Kahler Glen golf course about 5 min down 207. They serve pastas made in house and delicious cocktails.

Plain, WA is a cute little town 10 min away. Just Plain Grocery and Gas is a good place to pick some essentials of you’re running low on supplies and don’t feel like making the trek down to Leavenworth. Plain cellar is a wine maker we’d recommend over in Plain. They’re main facility is only open on Saturday, but they also have a tasting room in Leavenworth that’s open daily. Plain Hardware is also worth poking a head in if you’re in the area. It is a true-to-its-name hardware store, but they also have a pretty well stocked gift shop and a decent espresso bar for folks that aren’t in the middle of a home improvement project.

Down in Leavenworth you’ll find all manner of food, libations, souvenirs, and gifts. We like to head down to town for a stroll or to grab a snack. We like South, a Tex-Mex restaurant with solid margaritas and yummy food. There’s
Cured, a great place to pick up some smoked meats and cheeses, and next door they have a sausage garden serving delicious brats and pretzels. Icicle Brewing Co is one of our favorite places to stop to drink a pint. They’re one of a few breweries making beer in Leavenworth, and they have a heated beer garden outside that can be enjoyed all year.
Seattle favorite, Rhein Haus has an outpost in Leavenworth. They serve the same great German food as their Seattle home base and they have one of the most extensive, we’ll curated beer lists you’ll find in town.

When you’re ready to get outside for some adventure, Stevens Pass is just up highway 2 for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Over at Lake Wenatchee, you’ll find some snowmobiling trails. Leavenworth Snowmobile Rentals operates out of Coles Corner by the house and can get you set up for a great afternoon.
