The space
Kearney House is a classic Craftsman-style home, built in 1904, and is the perfect in-town Wine Country get-away for up to six guests. After 20 years operating as the Cinnamon Bear Bed and Breakfast the house was converted back to a private home in 2003 and underwent a complete renovation.

House features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, cozy living room, dining room with seating for eight and a parlor with another table for four, fully stocked laundry room and inviting wrap-around porch perfect for enjoying an afternoon glass of wine. In the summer month, guests may want to enjoy the the back yard with gas grill and fire pit and outdoor dining table lit by festive market lights. Three comfortable guest rooms each with a queen bed and full in-suite bath are located on the second floor each with a view of the surrounding mountains and in-town lights.

Located just two blocks from downtown St. Helena, Napa Valley's Main Street, the home is perfect for guests who want to explore Wine Country by day then come back, park their car at the house and stroll into town for shopping, enjoy drinks and dinner or catch a movie at the Cameo Cinema.

Guests are welcomed with a chilled bottle of wine in the refrigerator and during local citrus season fresh orange juice from fruit trees on the property.

The Kearney House a legal and licensed short term rental property regulated by the city of St. Helena STR Permit #PL21-034. The city of St. Helena requires all lodging businesses including short term rentals to collect and remit 15% local Hotel Taxes comprised of 12% TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax + 2% Tourism Improvement District Tax + 1% Affordable House Special Fund Tax. These taxes can not be collected by Airbnb for St. Helena so we will send an invoice separately once booking is confirmed. Taxes are calculated on the room rental only, not on any Airbnb or cleaning fees. Taxes are due at least 14 days in advance of your arrival and can be paid via 3rd party payment service or personal check. Taxes are refundable if you cancel within our listed Airbnb terms. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you. We will send a tax invoice email via email once your booking is confirmed.

Please note, St. Helena has a strict short-term/vacation rental ordinance and violators are being fined and shut down. Be sure to stay with a permitted host to protect your travel plans! All legal rentals are required to post permit numbers on their booking site.

Guest access
Guests have full access to Kitchen, Laundry, Library/Living and Dining rooms inside and Wrap-around Front Porch and Dining area and Grill outdoors in the backyard. Parking is available on the street and in the house driveway.

Notes - this historical home was built in 1904 and all access is via stairs. Front door is accessed via a 10 stair raiser and all three guest rooms are on the second floor of the home.

The house is also home to our small dog, although we will not be in the house during your visit, travelers with pet allergies are not recommended.

Other things to note
This house is listed on the County Historic inventory and was built as a wedding present for it's original owners, Walter Metzner and Susan Smith in 1904. Walter was Mayor of St. Helena twice and Susan's family opened and operated St. Helena' first pharmacy, Smith's. Photographs of the Metzner and Smith families as well as images of Kearney House in the early 1900s are displayed in the home. Each guest room is stocked with Napa Valley travel guides as well as many books detailing the history of our region and St. Helena.
