About this listing
Cosy, comfortable apartment located in one of Madrid's most charming plazas, featuring a 17th-century convent, a splash of greenery in the city center, three cafés and a Mexican restaurant where you can sip on a margarita or down some tacos outdoors on a warm night. Bright and sunny, the apartment has a balcony offering open views of the square, as well as of Madrid's famous blue skies and sunsets. Great for couples, single travelers or good friends.
Cleverly designed to make the most of the space, the apartment has a living room, a sleeping alcove with a very comfortable double bed, a spacious bathroom with shower and a well-equipped kitchenette. Beautiful details include old marble floors, a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and authentic Spanish terracotta kitchen tiles.
Note: an extra mattress (also very comfortable) sleeps a third person, and a fold-up cot is available for traveling babies.
Centrally located in a lovely neighborhood with cobblestoned streets in the heart of Madrid, the apartment is a stone's throw from Gran Vía and Plaza de España, close to Tribunal and Chueca, and within easy walking distance of historic points of interest, such as the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.
Excellent public transport connections. Near metro stations Noviciado (line 2), Plaza de España (lines 3 and 10) and San Bernardo (line 4). Also within easy walking distance of Tribunal and Bilbao (both line 1).
Elevator, bed and bath linens, kitchen essentials, washing machine, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, ample closet space, TV, phone and internet. A selection of guides and maps of Madrid, Spanish phrasebooks and dictionaries, and an eclectic library of English and Spanish books is also available for the visitor to use.
A personal pad for true romantics.
P.S. For anyone with open-ended plans that wants to explore Spain, please see my 2 listings in Cáceres (world heritage city in off-the-beaten-track Extremadura). Great for anyone who´d like to visit a beautifully conserved medieval city, be close to nature (good for birdwatching too) and get an insider´s glimpse of the "real Spain".
This apartment was formerly owned and designed by Isabel García Tapia (a well-known Spanish interior designer) and has been maintained with care, attention and love. Please treat it the same way!
Nuria's place is perfect for your stay in Madrid given its location and amenity! You won't get a better location to see the best parts of the city!
We walked into Centro, the palace, San Miguel market all within 15 mins (at a strolling pace).
The apartment itself is perfectly equipped for a short or an extended stay with all the necessary supplies and facilities.
Nuria's communication was perfect and she had the "host that cares" attitude.
Thanks again Nuria - we will be back for sure!
This little apartment is delightful, near the city centre, and just as described on the website. Nuria is an excellent communicator and provided clear directions on how to find it, arranged for her neighbour, Carmen, to meet us, and left instructions and information on just about everything. We can recommend this apartment and Nuria too! And Madrid of course!
Small apartment, but very practical and beautiful. It’s on a very nice popular square which is surprisingly not too noisy. Very convenient to public transportation and nice bars and restaurants, and walking distance to the Gran Vía and the Plaza de España. Metro arrival from the airport or from Atocha very easy, with elevators up to the street. And Nuria is a delight, good communicator (perfectly bilingual), and attentive to your comfort and interests. Highly recommended.
The apartment was very nice and clean.
It is located on a park and it's very close to the city center with the tube.
Nuria goes above and beyond any expectation of hospitality and assistance.
We certainly recommend this place.
Nuria's apartment was cute, small and cosy as the pictures suggest and perfect for a place to say for one person or a couple or two close friends. Location was ideal as everything was walkable from the flat, yet the plaza where the flat is is off a quieter few streets. The noise of the fan which I had on at night drowned out any noise from the plaza below, and the businesses are all packed up from between 11pm-1am which is around the time most people go to sleep anyway. Nuria was also very easy to speak with and get hold of and happy to help with any questions I had :)
At first we had a little misunderstanding in getting the key, but the problem was solved quickly!
The apartment is gorgeous. It just takes 20 mins walk to the city centre voldofone sol and round 15 mins walk to the royal palace. We like walking so we didnt take many metro and actually the metro stations are quite close to one another. Walking from one spot to another is really convenient. The apartment is clean and all the things we need are provided. In general, it s really a nice place to stay at. Highly recommend! THX Nuria and her neighbour Carmen!
What an adorable little apartment, just like the pictures, and in such a beautiful location.
Nuria was a fantastic host, super efficient at organising all the necessities. She was not in Madrid during my stay but put me in touch with her neighbour who was super helpful and lovely.
I had a wonderful stay in Madrid and would highly recommend staying at Nuria's to anyone.

About the Host, Nuria
Hi! I'm half-Spanish, half-American (dad from Spain, mom from USA), so feel I have a foot in both cultures. I teach, translate, and write (I'm the author of "Spanish Among Amigos", two books on conversational Spanish). I like drawing and painting, traveling, meeting people, bodysurfing on empty beaches, nature, animals, good books, good food... And I love Spain: its culture, people, climate, landscape, fiestas, food, wine... I'd love to welcome you to my place, and do all I can to help make your stay here maravilloso! ¡Hasta pronto!
