welcome to the YAY Frame - our family home and favorite getaway nestled among the pines of the Los Padres National Forest. the yay was built in the early 70s and one of only a few true A-Frames in pine mountain club. just over an hour from LA, or a beautiful two hour ride/drive up the fun way from Ojai.

The space
we split time between our home in ventura county and the yay frame so the cabin is purposefully cozy and curated. a mix of mid-century and scandanavian design with nods to the 70s, you’ll find vintage and new throughout. we use most of our time up here to relax and recharge and particularly love the hiking and motorcycling in the area.
whether you’re looking for solo time away, a slumber party with friends, or a creative retreat, we’re happy to host you at the yay frame.

the LIVING ROOM is the heart of the yay with a wall of windows, plenty of natural light, the coziest cloud couch, large smart OLED TV (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Peacock, Hulu all available) + surround sound, dining table for 4-6, a box of board games, pellet stove and ceiling fan.

the living room opens up to the DECK surrounded by piñon and jeffrey pines, hammock + outdoor seating, perfect place for stargazing.

the KITCHEN is recently updated and fully stocked with everything you need for baking and cooking: mixer, blender, waffle maker, french press, teapot, complimentary coffee & tea, and help yourself to pantry basics (just lmk if you use the last of anything!)

LOFT has a queen bed, beautiful view, and space for an air mattress

BUNKROOM has a single top, full bottom, window with peek of the pines, and electric wall heater

the BATHROOM is bright and airy, recently updated, stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap + first aid supplies, and electric wall heater

WIFI & CELL SERVICE: eek! unless you have Verizon, don’t count on your cell phone getting service at the yay or around pmc. we have unlimited, fast wifi but even that can be spotty at times – sorry in advance if it plays up during your stay.

HEATING & COOLING: the little pellet stove that could is the primary heat source for the yay – it does a damn good job of heating the cabin but on the coldest days we have supplemental space heaters, and plenty of blankets. in the summer months it can get quite warm but opening up doors and windows and cranking the ceiling fan in the late afternoon usually flushes out the warm air before bedtime.

HOT TUB & POOL: open seasonally, these are not on property but new additions to our pine mountain club village - about a 4 minute drive from the yay frame. if interested, I'll share pool access and details at check in

Where you’ll be

Pine Mountain Club, California, United States

Pine Mountain Club is a beautiful, friendly mountain village reminiscent of California in simpler times. four distinct seasons bring snow in the winter and super blooms in the spring – sorbet sunsets year-round.
wildlife is abundant here in the spring, summer and fall months. California quail, mule deer, black bears, hawks, owls, jays, blue birds, cotton tail and jack rabbit are just part of the pine mountain landscape. it’s not uncommon to watch a bear or bobcat stroll through the greenspace behind the yay during your morning cuppa.

if you came to play there is hiking, cross country skiing, dirt biking or mountain biking trails aplenty. in the PMC village, our guest card gets you access to the golf course, driving range, tennis courts, and soon, a new pool! there is also an equestrian center if you want to book a trail ride.
