The space
MODERN FARM RETREAT
The retreat, as we refer to it, is a private townhouse style apartment connected to the main house at McLawland Farms. When we purchased the property in 2017 we knew we had to create a space that would allow guests to enjoy the farm as much as we do. We started renovations in 2019 and opened the retreat in 2020. To ensure the most privacy and comfort during your visit we made sure to include a private entrance, dedicated parking, and separate HVAC systems. Being right next door means you will likely see us, and we enjoy our interactions with guests, but understand if you like your privacy. We will take our cues from you.

THE SPACE
Entrance into the retreat is under a COVERED PATIO. This space is great to watch the chickens and includes a bench, small table with two chairs, and a gas grill. Once inside, immediately to the left is the 1/2 BATH and LAUNDRY. Full size LG washer/dryer are available and we stock a fragrance free detergent.

The KITCHEN has a large island with plenty of space for meal prepping and includes three bar stools. Everything you need to cook a complete meal is available. Appliances include a large refrigerator, oven with electric cooktop, dishwasher, electric kettle, microwave, toaster, nutribullit, and a drip coffee maker. Like cocktails? You have stemless wine glasses, champagne flutes, and rock glasses along with standard glassware. 6-pc setting of plates, bowls, cutlery is supplied. Mixing bowls, cooking utensils, cookware and other basic cooking materials are stocked. Cleaning products, extra trash liners, and recycling are located under the sink.

The LIVING AREA is large and open with six windows flooding the space with light. The best views of the farm and pond are right here! A leather sofa and two wing-backed chairs provide ample seating to watch the 60" Samsung smart tv. Behind the sofa is the perfect spot for the full-size luxury blowup mattress, if its needed. The antique hall tree is stocked with outdoor fire pit blankets and a backup umbrella. An adjustable height pub table with two stools makes a great spot to set up your workstation. The Harry Potter sleeping space is tucked under the staircase and includes a cabinet with games, toys, and coloring supplies.

Upstairs you will find the PRIMARY BEDROOM and ENSUITE BATHROOM. The kingsize bed is centered in the room and captures great views of the farm and the 60" Samsung smart tv. Plenty of storage is provided for those spending a few weeks. Adapters are available on the bedside tables to charge all your devices. Room darkening curtains can be pulled to block the light for those lazy mornings. In the walk-in closet you will find a supply of wood clothes hangers, bedding for the blowup mattress, and a vacuum. The bathroom is bright and modern. Enjoy the 3'x6' glass enclosed shower and double vanity.

THE FARM
