We had an amazing time in Maurice and Phyllis' house. The house is gorgeous and the hosts are so welcoming.
Directions to the house were perfect and the house was easy to find. We had the whole downstairs to ourselves, which was perfect. We took the double room which was perfect. Nice comfy bed and quite spacious.
We had breakfast in the garden with glorious views over Wexford town. There is a BBQ there so next time I'll be buying some steak for dinner.
I can't tell you how nice and welcoming both Phyllis and Maurice are. They are like parents you never had. We will be back for sure. My girlfriend and I had a marvellous time.
Maurice was our first experience with Air BnB and one of our best. His instructions to the location were simple yet precise and his home was easy to find. We stayed only one night, but wish we could have stayed more. Maurice is more than hospitable and a gregarious host. Upon our arrival he offered to assist with our luggage, took his time to provide a tour of the ground floor of his home which was to be our lodging and even called ahead to arrange dinner for us at a local restaurant he recommended. The food was fabulous, by the way! Our abode included a game room ( a homage to the Beatles) with television, honor bar, small fridge and the makings for a light breakfast, a bath and separate shower, comfortable twin beds and about an acre of lawn and gardens around the house. The game room had a slight musty odor, but it was not off putting and not present in any other rooms. All were quite clean and well kept. Maurice's knowledge of the local area, being a retired long time resident, was quite helpful and he is more than willing to share local tales and history. Would return in a heartbeat.
Maurice and Phyllis were incredible. We were so warmly welcomed by both of them and Maurice even had some time to spend with us on the sunny terrace sharing stories of his musical journey. We spent a great evening together in town at the local pub and trad night. We both enjoyed ourselves immensely and cannot wait to pass by Wexford again to visit our new friends.
Maurice and Phyllis are lovely helpful people their home is gorgeous in a wonderful garden and Maurice's tales are legendary. Breakfast is help yourself Creoles and juice and there is an honesty bar for that later evening drink. Rooms are all on ground floor with a large bathroom and separate shower room. Lovely all round and would definitely come again. In fact this is our second stay. Phyllis has all the local advice you may need and kindly dropped us in town to an excellent sea food restaurant. In all a great place to stay over near the ferry terminal. It would be a great pity if you didn't get to hear Maurice's tales but he's a busy man and maybe out.
Translation: We can only recommend to anyone to visit Maurice in Wexford. He was a very nice, helpful and understanding host! His house is exactly as it is shown on the pictures. He gave us precious tips what we in the environment or food Ireland, should see and hear ;-) We had a separate, private area with its own lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very clean. We felt completely comfortable and warm. Goodbye, to the 6th Beatle! He even sang to us a farewell song, Beatles of course! Maurice, we're definitely back :-)
This split level house offers plenty of privacy and and space with your own private bar! It's in a lovely location with river views looking over the town and the garden is perfect for an Al fresco breakfast!
