Translation: We can only recommend to anyone to visit Maurice in Wexford. He was a very nice, helpful and understanding host! His house is exactly as it is shown on the pictures. He gave us precious tips what we in the environment or food Ireland, should see and hear ;-) We had a separate, private area with its own lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very clean. We felt completely comfortable and warm. Goodbye, to the 6th Beatle! He even sang to us a farewell song, Beatles of course! Maurice, we're definitely back :-)
Maurice’s son greeted us upon arrival as Maurice was away for the day. After turning the heat on—it was quite chilly and damp in the lower level of the house—the son left shortly after we arrived. Apparently, the son was not aware we were supposed to have two (2) beds. We were not aware there was more than one bedroom used for AirBnB, therefore, we did not question the room with a double bed with a lot of personal items stored in the closet and on the shelves.
Without local guidance we got lost in an attempt to find a restaurant open for dinner. When we finally found our way back, the heat appeared to have been turned off for the night.
Until the next morning—just before we were leaving—we did not realize there was another bedroom with twin beds just down the hallway. The door to that room had been closed upon our arrival. Maurice, later, apologized and indicated we could have moved had we expressed the desire, however, we spent only one night there.
The location was very good. Close to town, but one would have to be into long walks to walk to town. Even walking to a nearby restaurant was more of a walk than us senior citizens would undertake.
Other than the room, the facilities were as described. The TV in the game room and the Wi-Fi was excellent. There was a refrigerator and coffee/tea along with cereals, milk and juice for our use. It was still quite cold when we awakened. We opted to go out for breakfast before we continued our journey.
Maurice was an interesting person and I enjoyed talking with him, but, overall, our stay in Wexford was not as we had expected.
Maurice and his wife were so kind and accommodating. We had had a rough trip the previous few days, and they both made us feel welcome and at home when we arrived. It was such a shame we could not stay longer to enjoy the nice home, company, view, and town. Next time!
Maurice and Phyllis are the best hosts! Warm and welcoming, they made sure to meet us after our train trip & also had a map of Wexford and list of top restaurants waiting on us when we arrived! Their home is in a beautiful location & is very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed getting a chance to meet and enjoy the company of the '6th Beatle'! ;-)
Notre séjour à wexford était court mais nous nous en souviendrons ! Les communs sont originaux et nous ont beaucoup marqués! La chambre est calme et confortable. Phyllis et maurice sont des hôtes accueillants et disponibles. Le lieu est magique !!
Maurice and Phyllis are the perfect hosts.
He's very welcoming and very friendly, we spent a lot of time talking and laughing as we were old friends.
His wife Phyllis is very kind as well, she made an effort to find a restaurant booking.
The house is very nice, clean and tidy with a wonderful garden just 5 minutes from city centre.
Maurice is also an amazing guitar player and singer. Hope you'll be lucky to enjoy his performance like I was.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
