This newly renovated 4th generation family farmhouse sitting on 13 acres is centrally located in Russell Springs, just minutes from Lake Cumberland. We are just off the Cumberland Parkway (a short and easy drive to both Columbia and Somerset), close to Russell County Hospital, and within a mile to most fast-food chains, restaurants, gas, and grocery. Our goal is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible while visiting the Lake Cumberland area. We do ask that there be no smoking in the home.

The space
Our home is unique because it has been in the Bernard family for 100 years. Back in the early 1920’s our grandfather, who had just recently returned home from World War I, married our grandmother. They moved into a two room farm house. As the years passed their family grew to include seven children, so they added more rooms to the old house. Needless to say this old farm house has all the charm and character of a much loved home.

The farmouse is sitting on 13 acres of farm land. During the summer months you will see corn or soy growing in the fields. It is located on Maple Street, which is right off of highway 127.
The farmhouse was here long before the current road was even built. In fact, the house was moved back in order to allow for the road! You may hear some street noise due to the house being close to the road.
NOTICE: We have a very old pear tree in the front yard. During fruit bearing season (July- September) it does attract alot of bees. IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER HAS AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO BEE STINGS PLEASE BE AWARE.

Hello! My name is Anissa Bernard Hammond. I have lived in Russell County most of my life. I graduated from high school here, married here (my husband Scott is a US Marine Corps veteran and has worked in law enforcement for 27 years), raised our son Spencer here, and taught here for 27 years. I retired from teaching in 2019, and now I am enjoying my "retirement" by hosting my beloved childhood home. It is my hope that you will feel the same warmth and comfort in this 100+ year old farmhouse that I have always felt.
