House available in the historic gold mining town of Beechworth in North East Victoria, Australia. Our house is generally only available on weekends and/or when we go away on holidays so guests would have the whole place to themselves. If we get a booking it's a perfect excuse for us to travel somewhere else. We do not run a B&B as such but are happy to make our home available when we're not staying there. Please note that we rarely accept a single night booking. Generally our minimum is 2 nights. For more information on travel, attractions and much more on Beechworth and the surrounding area search 'Beechworth' online.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second smaller room has a double futon mattress on the floor suitable for another couple or a single. The other room in the house is our kids room and if you have young ones, our cots are available too. Our house also has a granny flat available in a separate building, 10metres from the main house. This granny flat has a double bed, TV, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster but there is no plumbing or toilet available. Guests staying in the granny flat would need to use the main house bathroom. Towels and linen is provided but please BYO sheets if using the kids cots. Free wifi (fast broadband) is available for your smart phone, tablet or computer. The house is only a 7min walk (500m) from the centre of town with a range of cafe's, a famous bakery, microbrewery, wine bars, 4 pubs and some excellent dining, unique shopping and the historic precinct available. From the verandah at the front of the house there is a great view of the gorge and the National Park. Walking trails in the National Park are also literally only a few minutes walk away. There's a big outdoor BBQ in the back yard too which guests are more than welcome to use.
Beechworth is a great destination for mountain biking...we are active mountain bikers ourselves and can help you enjoy the local riding including the local mountain bike park. The town is also a great base to travel further afield in the north-east including the wineries of Rutherglen (30min), the picture postcard mountain township of Bright (40min), spectacular Mt Buffalo National Park (1hour), Mt Beauty (1hour) and the alpine snow resorts of Mt Hotham and Falls Creek (1.5hours).
If you're travelling on the Hume Freeway between Melbourne and Canberra or Sydney, Beechworth is an excellent detour (only an extra 20min driving off the Hume) and stopover to break the drive. Albury/Wodonga is 30min drive to the north and Wangaratta is 25min drive to the south of Beechworth.
Public transport is available to Beechworth by train and coach bus service from both Wangaratta and Albury.
Our rates are $119/night for one or two people. Additional people are an extra $20 per person per night. For major events and public holidays (ie- Christmas-New Year period, Easter, long weekends) a minimum stay may be required.
The whole house is yours to enjoy including the outdoor BBQ.

Convenient location, an easy walk home from local restaurants (particularly recommend the press room),
Paul was very prompt in responding and supportive to all our queries.
The accommodation was very good, homely and cosy and the location beautifully peaceful but not to far from the centre of the village
Paul's house is perfectly located in Beechworth in a cute house a short walk away from town. Paul was easy to deal with and very quick to respond to any questions I had to help make my stay more enjoyable.
We were also lucky enough to look after Bindi who was extremely well behaved and didn't bark at all!
Staying at Paul's was like a home away from home. He is an exceptional communicator and was very accommodating. Great place to stay & I highly recommend it.
We really enjoyed staying at Paul's house. It was clean and tidy, close to town, and well suited for our one year old. Lots of covered areas outside with both the front and rear verandas. There was not too much activity on his street, so it made for a relaxing, laid back place to chill out and relax.
