I felt very homely , the place and room were quite good. More over Mr. Sachin is too friendly and helped us in all means.I would like to thanks Mr. Sachin for his wonderful support and all the arrangements he did for us.I can confidently suggest this place to others.
The place is as same as what we are see the snap provided ,everything is well kept and clean. Sachin is ready for giving 24 hrs support.
Once again I would like to thank sachin for making our stay wonderful.
Stayed there for 4 days, and would definitely stay once again when if find ourselves once again in Mumbai. Highly recommendable for anyone who seeks to get into real local life away from tourist attractions. The host, Sachin, is very friendly and willing to help in almost any imaginable situation:)
I've staid 4 nights at Sachin's apartment. It was a great experience for me as I've always been travelling in India in hotels or guest-houses in tourist areas (this was my 6th time in 30 years).
My first very good surprise was the Mulund location of the apartment. It is a very interesting real indian (hindu) area, safe and quite clean, with lots of mid-class and family people (and without any tourists). You have markets, many shops, bars, restaurants (veg and non-veg), alcohols shops, ... even a peaceful garden, in fact everything you can need when you are staying in one place. You also can, without any problem, walk around at night and talk with locals. It's also nearby a train station, very convenient to go south Mumbai. Nevertheless you must be aware that Mulund is about 30 km from south Mumbai and it can take quite a long time to go there (only 40' to 60' by train, but you must leave before 7 am if you want to be sure to get inside). It also means that if you want to experiment some night life spots in south Mumbai, you better stay there for one night and then come back to Mulund.
The independent apartment itself is exactly as described, clean, western toilet and hot shower, a very powerful fan. It is a very good quality/price (Mumbai is indeed a very expensive city for lodging). All the needed facilities are in 1 to 10 minutes walking distant, so this is very convenient. It is also 10 minutes walk to Sachin's home where you can use any time of the day his computer to surf on internet (it is not a very fast connection, but sufficient enough to surf without getting mad).
I've spend 5 all days with Sachin and I must say he is a very nice, helpful and trustily guy that knows very well Mumbai. In fact, he is a real professional guide and don't hesitate to go with him around, he will show you many things that you will not be able to discover by yourself (from the use of the marvelous and useful Mumbai's trains, quite impossible to do it alone if you only stay in Mumbai a few days, to a perfect breakfast that you didn't even know it could exist). If you are interested about bollywood, Sachin has some connection that may help to see some shooting movies. If you go around with Sachin, don't forget that it is his job and naturally he must be paid for that, and believe me, it's quite cheap for such a helpful guiding and very worthily.
Thanks to Sachin, I experienced something new, authentic and, as I was alone this time, I really want to come back with my wife one day.
I stayed at Sachin's place for 2 days upon arrival in India. The apartment was already rented out so I was offered to stay together with Sachin and his family in their apartment, which I was very happy for. I got my own room and had my own privacy, but at the same time I felt highly accepted as a part of the family and we had such a good time and good conversations together. On top of that, Sachin's mum is a wonderful cook.
Sachin himself is the perfect host and guide. He came to pick me up in the airport, unexpectedly. He is such a great guy and always up for good and inspiring conversations. As a female traveling alone I felt very good and safe in his company. He is extremely helpful in any situation and really does the best for his guests. It is easy to sense that his job is his passion.
So, if you go to Mumbai I will strongly recommend you to meet this guy and (email hidden).
What an amazing trip! My friend and I made the long journey to the little village of Jibhi and stayed in one of Mr Rana's Swiss Cottages for two weeks. It was an incredible experience, the entire family is so kind and hospitable and really worked hard to make us comfortable and keep us entertained, which, incidentally, wasn't too difficult because the natural beauty and adventure offered by the surrounding mountains and forests was more than enough.
When we arrived we were given a map of different day hikes we could take around the cottage, though some were still impossible because there was some snow still up high in the mountains, we spent a lot of time trekking around and meeting locals, who were incredibly welcoming and interested in us. I cannot understate how pleasant my stay here was, I recommend it highly to anybody who is thinking about going!
Nice place to stay and beginning of your journey to India with right assistance
We stayed a few Days at Sachins Apartment for our start to our one Month travelling to Northern India.
First I expected a homestay with just a room and nothing more, but Sachin turned out to be a very very helpful host, guidung us to many interesting places like local markets and temples where I alone never would have gone, I was really lucky to meet Sachin as he helped us through the Rest of the Trip like giving assistance for traveling in india, arranging train or bus tickets etc. and he knows many spots in whole India. You can really trust him if you're searching for the genuine indian life and not the crowded overpriced tourist places.
He is very friendly and he makes you feel very comfortable and safe in his company. Of course I gave him some extra fees for his guiding and assistance (which is much more worth than the fees he charge), as its also a source of his income, but he also keep option open to compensate as per guest's willingness and their budget. So nothing seems forceful at all.
The room is really good value for the money, it is clean and cosy, i felt quickly like home, it has shower and western toilet in a really quiet neighbourhood not too far from mulund train station.
The Building is a house where you can find everyday indian life, in a very sympathic neighbourhood.
Of course if it is your first stay in india dont expect a five star hotel with pool in front of the door but what i want to say is that you will not find more value for your money and such a highly sympathic host.
Highly recommended from my side
Right downtown, great host who can assist you with your travels in India as well.
Sachin and his co-worker Miss Vani were very good (absent) hosts - they weren't on site (but in Bangalore) but both called to check everything was OK. The hotel managers on site were very helpful and attentive. The tree house was wonderful. Bear in mind it is simple living, with a basic (hard) bed, but a flushing toilet and shower, and lovely sitting areas. What a spot - right next to the Kalindi River, downstream from the Papanasini River at the Thirunelli Temple in which hindus believe their sins will be washed away. The tree house is part of a resort, so less isolated that it seems on Air BnB (see (website hidden)). About 15 minute walk to temple, about 15 minute jeep ride to Tholpetty entrance to reserve.
Apartment was quite nice and clean. It's true value for money. Sachin was very helpful with things. He provided everything needed for the place. nice place, nice neighbourhood , nice host, nice family.. btw elevator is very funny :-) music being played if it's not closed properly :-) I would recommend this place to anybody :-)
Sachin (email hidden). His small yet comfortable apartment is just the right venue for someone who wants to experience the true Mumbai experience. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not it. But if it's a 5 star experience you crave, this is the place for you. Sachin goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and ensure that his guests arrive safely (he went with me to the airport at 3:00 AM on a Friday morning to receive my sister).
He will accompany you around the city and show you the sights of Mumbai. One reviewer earlier mentions that he accompanied them and then did not tell them about payment until afterwards. That was not true in my case. He was upfront and said as this is how he makes his living now he does expect to be compensated for the services he provides beyond just the room (which you've already paid for). It would be crazy to expect someone to give up their entire day (or multiple days) to show you around and I would challenge you to find another host that would a) be willing to do so, b) be as knowledgable and c) charge such a fair rate.
I would definitely recommend staying with Sachin and experiencing Mumbai through his homestay whether it be a weekend trip or a multi-month excursion.
thank you very much for your time to write such nice words about my place and me.
i hope you and sarah are well.
i wish if we could meet again in coming days as you are in india only.
