The Space

This is our fully furnished and completely renovated 2 BR (1 Large Bedroom and one small Bedroom, each with a Queen Bed) 1st floor apartment with new fully equipped kitchen, new hardwood floors, covered deck, and backyard in the University City District of Philadelphia - a very livable residential mixed with businesses, mainly restaurants. The location of the rental is very quiet but convenient to public transportation: 2 trolley lines (34 and 13) are less than 4 minutes walking distance away - both connect directly to center city Philadelphia with the Convention Center, the Reading Terminal Market, etc. etc.. The apartment is a a great place for up to 4 persons who have a short time commitment in Philadelphia. There is always free parking available on the street in front of our house.

The distances to some important campuses are:
The University of Pennsylvania campus is 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes trolley away,
Drexel University is 25 minutes walk or 7 minutes trolley away,
The University of the Sciences campus is 10 minutes walk away,
The St. Josephs University is 15 minutes by bus away,
Temple University is 25 minutes by trolley and subway.

BTW: The apartment comes with 2 sets of clean bedding per bedroom, plenty of towels, etc. etc.

  • Christof is an outstanding landlord and host. I stayed at his apartment for several months in 2013–2014. During that time I had the pleasure of experiencing his generosity and helpfulness. He was prompt to address whatever issue I contacted him about and provided many valuable tips for living in and exploring Philadelphia and the surrounding area.

The apartment is well designed and has almost everything one needs to make it a home.

West Philly is a diverse though mostly residential neighborhood. Two trolley lines leading to Center City, as well as a great health food store and several local cafés and restaurants, are a short walk from the apartment. The campus bus serving members of the Penn and Drexel communities has a stop a block and a half away. Those traveling by car will appreciate the convenience of free and ample street parking.

  • A very neat and beautiful apartment well furnished and very well connected by trolley, bus and road to anywhere in Philadelphia. very near the university town, which was my prime objective. Christof is a wonderful host with his apartment having everything the site shows and more.

  • Firstly Christof was great to deal with prior to our arrival. He sent a great welcome pack with everything we needed to know and was always quick in responding to any questions we had.

The apartment itself was perfect for our stay and in a very good location. Only two minutes walk from the trolley line which will get you into downtown Philly in around 10 minutes.

We found the local area to be nice, quiet and friendly and the bars/restaurants/stores along Baltimore Street give a great alternative to a night in the centre of the city. If you do decide to stay out late and the trolley service has finished a taxi will still cost you no more than around $15 dollars from the centre.

The apartment had everything you might require with fast wifi, a HUGE fridge, anything you might need to cook with and a washer/dryer in the basement.

If/When I make it back to the beautiful city of Philadelphia, Christof will be the first person I contact when looking for a room. I recommend it to anyone.

  • Wonderful well-appointed flat, v conveniently located. Christof is a kind and generous host--responding immediately when we had a power outage and when I needed to stay a few extra days. His friends looking after his place kept the aircon on for us in the middle of a sweltering Philly heatwave...I can't recommend both this flat and Christof enough.

  • A fantastic apartment in a very hip and cool neighbourhood. Easy to get around and lots of great places to check out within walking distance. Christof is a great host and was always available when we emailed him. We'd definitely come back here!

  • Our 2 months stay at Christofs appartment was very pleasant. The appartment had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. Upon arrival, Christof provided us with plenty of useful information for making the most of our stay and enjoying the neighborhood, from dining recommendations to public transport instructions.
I would definitely recommend this place for a visit in Philadelphia and would stay there again anytime.

  • Cristofs appartment is exactly as advertised, it is very clean and comfortable, I certainly recommend it
It can accomodate 4 adults perfectly.

Upon arrival, the neighborhood may look a little bit run down, but that is more optical then anything else, we where greated by the neighbors everytime we got back in the afternoon.

On the corner of Walnut and 36 there is a great supermarket with a big assortment (Foodgrocer)

Further it is convieniently located to get downtown either by public transport or by car.

For lunch please do check out the "Reading terminal market"

  • Christof's apartment worked out beautifully for us. We were in Philadelphia to attend the wedding of my daughter and the apartment was used to house my step daughter in law, her husband, their two twins and their toddler. Having access to two bedrooms was very important.

Christof and Felicia were most helpful in answering our questions, and Christof literally called me from a small village in central Brazil. Talk about the marvels of modern communication! Felicia also came over to make sure that everything was okay!

The apartment was clean, the location was approximately 1/2 mile from where my daughter lives and the cost was very reasonable when compared to what it would have cost to house this family at a hotel. We were able to set the whole thing up from San Diego, and dealing directly with Christof and Felicia added a wonderful personal touch to the process.

For all this I award them five stars with no qualifications!

    Kind regards,

    Craig Warren
