I've visited NY for short time with work related agenda and stayed at Renee's place. It was as described - quiet, bright and spacious! Strategic location - just in the centre of my roads - work, friends and the airport. I did enjoy my very first experience with airbnb.
Very cozy!!! Everything felt as if I were at home although I was just a visitor. Renee is great, this will probably be the only place I stay when I come back to New York
Renee was a wonderful host. Met me at the apartment buildings entrance right on time and had the apartment looking perfect. In regards to the apartment it was very cozy and comfortable. I would stay here again for sure. The kitchen has every utensil needed to cook and enjoy a wonderful meal. Plus having a drier and washer was quiet handy.
Thanks again Renee! Hope to come back and stay again.
Renee was responsive and as nice as can be. My only complaint about the apartment: doors. The first time I closed the apartment door from the outside, the door knob came off in my hand. Renee quickly apologized and tightened it, but it was a reminder that this is an old house and some of the doors are a bit wonky.
The bedroom door will only stay closed with a chain lock from the inside, and the bathroom door was almost impossible to get to stay closed, even with the lock engaged. This may not be a problem if you are alone, or with a partner where privacy is not necessary, but among two friends it required warnings of "I'm walking past the bathroom now".
Other than that, the apartment was bright, roomy, and just a few minutes walk from the subway and LIRR. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and silverware, and there was random reading material lying around. Renee has made helpful signs on the walls with the WiFi password, local shop recommendations, and instructions on various plumbing quirks. We had no problem besides the doors.
Well Renée is like everybody here says. Just amazing! Getting up in the middle of the night to let us in. Fixing breakfast. Well she is as good as it gets, so we highly recommend her to everybody. The apartment was great, the neighborhood were really nice. Some said it seemed to be a bit spooky but it wasn't. Felt like your really got the true New York. People in the streets was friendly and a close supermarket hit the spot. If we come back to N.Y, Renée is our first choose.
We had a great stay with Renee, the apartment is exactly as in the description, very well located 10 minutes walk from the metro station which drove us 20 minutes to Manhattan. Renee is very nice, helpful and available. We recomand this apartment for a couple or even a couple and 2 children because there 2 beds appoins very good and the room is really great. Renee thank you again and good luck. Sophie and Marc
My son and I spent an awesome week in New York in October. The weather was great: sun was shining from a cloudless sky – and New York offered us all kinds of wonderful experiences from rock concerts to ballet to walks in the beautiful Central Park. In the evenings it was great to come back to Renées beautiful house. The apartment was roomy, bright and quiet and everything was just as promised. Renée was veryhelpful and friendly and we will definitely come back again.
This is a very nice and clean apartment. Renee is a very attentive and helpful host. The subway to Manhattan is an easy 10 minute walk. But I found the area pretty rough and from the point of shopping and going out, it simply doesnt cater for any good grocery stores or cafes/restaurant. I did find this a drawback.
4.5 stars. Great place for the price. Lots of yummy local eats!
We had a great stay at Renee's apartment. It is clean, light and spacious as well as being charming as it is in a renovated Brownstone with lots of original features. It is in a quiet residential area but it took us just under 10 minutes to walk to the Metro ( the A and C Lines) and then another 15 minutes to reach Manhattan. The A Line also goes directly to the airtrain at JFK. The apartment is in a vibrant area with lots of shops and restaurants but after 8 weeks travelling we decided to cook for ourselves. This was easy in Renee's well equipped kitchen and with a very good supermarket about 5 minutes walk away. Just a few steps away there were several corner stores where you could get the basics such as milk and bread. All written communication was very easy with Renee and she was very amiable when she greeted us on arrival and later on when she provided us with further advice and assistance during our week long stay. This was a great place to stay to finish our 9 week holiday. Highly recommended!
