Envision yourself secluded in the serenity of the wide-open desert. Craft the experience of your dreams...

Le Haute Desert Aerie is a 40-acre resort with trails, cool mountain breezes, and views galore. We are renowned for our stunning vistas and the inimitable majesty of the High Desert landscape. Enjoy warm summer nights and party until sunrise with your closest friends and family! Being at such a high elevation, it doesn’t get quite as hot as the Joshua Tree desert below.

The space
Happy Summer! We know you may be thinking it is too hot to visit during this time of year, however, we are located at 4,300ft above sea level. This gives us much more comfortable days and INCREDIBLE warm nights for the next few months! Also, ask us about our water feature to cool off during the mid-day heat!

When you book your stay, the full Airstream Village & Safari Oasis is booked for you and your guests. The lake and hiking trails are shared only with guests staying in the main house.

A total of 4 Queen beds, 1 King, 1 Twin, 1 Full, & our Cozy Cove with 2 Twins & a Lovesac.

Offering an exquisite high desert setting for intimate gatherings, weekend getaways, and special events, Le Haute Desert Aerie is a truly unique desert sanctuary.

Accommodations include:
- Art Lounge (artist studio with a kitchenette, 1 K, 1 F, & Cozy Cove)
- 2 Vintage Airstreams (1 Q, 1 TW & 1 Q, both with kitchenettes, AC & heaters)
- 2 Safari Tents (1 Q bed in each, wood-fire stoves).

Both of the Airstreams have large decks suitable for small gatherings. One has a massive stone fireplace and a wood cooking grill, and the other has a view of the expansive desert landscape. To top it off, there is a helicopter propeller blade bar and a gas grill. Both Airstreams have microwave ovens, small refrigerators, and sinks.

The two Hemingwayesque, white cotton safari-style tents are tucked between rock formations that help one to embrace the meaning of true desert solitude. Though the tents are quite a step up from traditional camping, we recommend them for visitors comfortable with the outdoors.

Our beds boast fresh, white cotton sheets, Indonesian carved headboards, and wild Joshua Tree bedside tables, made from post-fire Joshua Trees that the creator of this desert estate built after a fire left the areas strewn with burned Joshua Trees. The tents also have front porches with pergolas made from post-fire scavenged Joshua Trees.

There are two full bathrooms (one is built in a metal shipping container with a shower that opens up to splendid views of Mt. Gorgonio and the other is an amazing hand-built stone bathhouse with an open sky shower, walls made from glass bottles, and a camper's dream kitchen with a camp cookstove, massive fire pit & cooking crates.)

*Keep in mind we are at 4100 ft elevation and have cool summer nights and mornings, there is nearly always a gentle breeze. This is camp style: we do have a few small fridges, microwave, electric kettle, and firepits, but no full kitchen.

Located on 40 acres, surrounded by hundreds of acres of pristine wildlands, Le Haute Desert Aerie offers long views of Mt. Gorgonio to the Eastern Mojave and a supremely sublime refuge from the stresses of urban life. With all of our electricity provided by state-of-the-art solar panels, we are proudly off-grid and uniquely committed to sustainability.

Find us just outside Pioneertown, 30 minutes from Palm Springs International Airport, and 2 hours from 80% of the Southern California metro area. We are easy to get to, yet so far away from it all.

Where you’ll be

Pioneertown, California, United States

We are just minutes from downtown Pioneertown, a true one-of-a-kind village that sprang up in 1946 as a set for the many Westerns filmed in the area. Here you will discover the legendary roadhouse, Pappy & Harriet's! Enjoy a meal at this iconic restaurant and bar (and perhaps a show from one of the national or local talents that come through!), and enjoy the many shops and Old West-themed photo ops throughout "Mane Street".

It is also an easy drive to Joshua Tree National Park, downtown Palm Springs, the Integratron in Landers, and the many art galleries and music venues throughout the greater Joshua Tree area. (NOTE: Please double-check all area business hours and COVID-19 policies ahead of your trip.)
