About this listing
HELLO! BONJOUR! BUENOS DIAS! OLA!
Our cute, quiet, cozy chalet is in a residential neighborhood 1/2 mile from the water (the sound). Our place is great for couples with kids at least 8 years of age (or babies not yet crawling) or for friends. We have 2 beds, so can accommodate 4 people, but if you don't mind being a bit squeezed, you could put a 5th person on a mattress on the floor.
We have what you need for a comfortable, fun, relaxing stay: microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, mini fridge, electric kettle, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, silverware, dish towels, paper towels. Our chalet is next to our house, and has its own private entrance and parking in our driveway. There's a super comfortable queen bed in the main room, and a double bed in the loft. Sheets, bedspreads and towels are provided. TV has only a few channels since we don't have cable. TV enthusiasts be advised :-)
We are just 5 miles to Clearwater Beach (10 minutes without traffic), 8 miles to Honeymoon Island & Caledisi Island (voted in top 10 beaches in US), and 1.5 miles to downtown Dunedin, with its quaint boutiques, restaurants and marina. Tarpon Springs, "the sponge capital of the world," is a 20-minute drive north, with lots of Greek restaurants, shops, and of course, natural sponges. St. Petersburg and Tampa are each 30 minutes away. You can drive 1 minute to the water's edge and watch osprey and pelicans dive for their breakfast.
Bus stop is 1 block away. The area is great for cycling, and there are many bike rental places nearby, and also a place that sells refurbished bikes if you're here for a while.
*** PLEASE SEE OUR GUIDE FOR ALL THERE IS TO DO AROUND HERE! ***
LOCAL TELEVISION ONLY - no cable
FREE PARKING in our driveway - you're never blocked in.
BUS STOP (bus #66) 1/2 block away, goes to downtown Clearwater. You then change buses to go to the beach. (But I recommend renting a car, since you'll be limited by public transport here).
SWIMMING POOL 10 MINUTES AWAY: Dunedin Pool at Highlander Park, $3/person. It has a large pool with diving boards and slides, and a kiddie pool for small children.
EASY CHECK-IN & OUT: I don't need to be here if you arrive early or late, so you can check yourself in and out (I'll hide the key for you).
We look forward to helping you have a great stay in Clearwater!
Interaction with Guests
I am available if you need me for anything -- questions about the neighborhood or area, help with the chalet, or even to chat over a cup of coffee if time allows in both our schedules. Don't hesitate to text, email or call me.
I love how close we are to the beach (10-minute drive with no traffic), that Dunedin with its shops & cafes is only a 2-minute drive, and that we are only 5 blocks from the water, where you can walk or bike ride. We are also just 3 blocks from the Pinellas Trail, which is a paved trail extending the entire length of Pinellas County, which is used for walking, running, rollerblading and cycling.
The best way to get around is by car. You have your own parking spot here, which is free. The airport is about a 30-minute drive from the chalet. There are buses but the routes are limited.
PETS ON A LIMITED, CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. Message me with the breed, weight, age, and flea prevention you use, and we'll go from there.
Please treat our guesthouse like you would your own home. Smoke only outside.
Beach towels NOT provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
Make sure to close the gate when you enter and leave.
Please put all empty food containers in CLOSED bags before you put them in the trash.
I love meeting new people, and traveling to new places to learn about our big world. Favorite travel destinations: Bora Bora, Paris, Brittany (France), Tiradentes (Brazil), Florence, Italy. I lived in France, Italy, Vietnam and Brazil because I love learning about other places and cultures. Through these experiences, I have learned to speak fluent French, and am able to carry on simple conversation in Spanish and Portuguese.
It is so fun hosting on Airbnb because I get to meet people from all over the world. So far we've had people from Spain, Germany, England, Iran, Estonia, Canada and different places in the U.S. our Airbnb properties are open to all, regardless of nationality, race, sexual orientation, creed, or religion. We are all individuals, and that's what makes our world interesting!
I love the outdoors, and my favorite thing about Florida is all the flora and fauna. I've never seen so many different animals in all my life! We have the largest concentration of bald eagles in all of the lower 48 states. Plus we have all types of birds, reptiles, etc.
I hope you can come enjoy all that Florida has to offer. It's well worth it. I am around if you have questions about the area. Feel free to call, text or email.
