Our one bedroom apartment with a full private roof deck overlooking Kowloon Park is available while we are out of town. Great location in an older walk-up building that we have had for four years. Bedroom is small and the living room is huge for HK!
Please read all the way to the bottom *before* booking.
After four full years on AirBnB in Hong Kong we've hosted many great world travelers! We are currently based in San Francisco, so won't be able to meet you, unfortunately, but do look forward to having you experience Hong Kong from our wonderful apartment. We have friends who live nearby who can help if you need anything.
So please come enjoy a beautiful view of Kowloon Park in the bustling heart of Hong Kong. We've made this our home for six years and enjoy sharing it with visitors to this exciting and vibrant city.
We're offering the apartment that includes a private bedroom with a very comfortable queen size bed. The apartment is on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong, only 1 minute from the TST MTR (subway) station. It's a 6th floor apartment with a view of Kowloon Park along with a full private roof deck with the same beautiful view. This roof deck is the thing that convinced us to get this apartment in the first place and is a rare find in this part of Hong Kong.
We can accommodate an extra person or two on the futon in the living room for an extra fee, so please contact us to inquire. It is not a fully private space, but is where we stayed for many, many nights while we were living in the apartment and hosted guests.
Nathan road is less than a 1 minute walk, the Peninsula hotel is 5 minutes, and Victoria Harbour just across from that. Easily one of the most convenient locations for exploring all of Hong Kong -- the MTR (subway) entrance to Tsim Sha Tsui station is about a minute from the front door. You're in the middle of everything, yet can quickly escape to a surprisingly quiet flat.
The flat is 650' and the balcony is another 650'. There is a western-style bathroom with washing machine and complete kitchen. Please note that we are vegetarian and request that no meat or seafood is cooked, stored, or eaten in the apartment. Other than that rule, we're quite easy going.
Note that this is a walkup; there is no lift in the building.
Please note the following:
- AirBnB handles the payment. Please do not ask about what forms of payment we will accept.
- There is no elevator/lift in the building. The apartment is on the 6th floor and you will have to walk up and you will have to carry your luggage up.
Thanks and we really look forward to hosting you in Hong Kong and being part of your trip to this wonderful city!
The entire apartment. We are not living there now, but it's fully furnished from when we were.
Interaction with Guests
We are very responsive via e-mail and (US) phone and have friends in town if you need anything. Since we are currently based in San Francisco, we are only in HK for about a week every six months, so the odds of meeting us (or having one or both of us on the futon in the living room) are pretty low.
The closest MTR (Hong Kong subway) entrance is only steps away from the front door. Taxis are available literally outside the front door. The Star Ferry is a 5-7 minute walk away.
The rules are very straightforward: act as though you live here and are a roommate; we would prefer to think of you that way. The best guests are those that clean up after themselves, treat us like friends, and enjoy their stay!
The one rule we have is that since we are vegetarian, we ask for not meat, poultry, or seafood to be prepared in the kitchen.
If you use any of our groceries, please replace them or leave a little extra money for us to do so.
No smoking is allowed in the apartment, but you can use the rooftop area.
The location is great. A couple minutes walk to TST MTR station, close proximity to the ferry terminal to Macau and just a couple of bus stops away from Temple Street.
The 6 level of stairs can be quite a hassle though and the roof deck needs some maintenance.
All in all still a good stay.
The flat is in a great location directly opposite Kowloon Park. This has the benefit of a great outlook and also the park itself is a very nice place to spend time in when you want a break from the crowds. Short walk to the harbour and to the history and science museums. Also very easy to get on the MTR and go further afield. We also used the Airport Express shuttle bus (K2) to get picked up from 2 blocks away (out the back of the Peninsula Hotel) and whisked to Kowloon station where you can check in - a great service. The flat had everything we needed and we were very comfortable there. All in all a very enjoyable visit.
Cory's apartment is really nice and comfortable.
It's a rather big flat with large living room, cozy bedroom, a kitchen with all necessary equipment and a bathroom.
The flat is full of light and it's very quiet. If you don't like to climb the steps or it is difficult to you then better choose some other place, but if you don't mind the stairs it's ok.
Unfortunately we checked in after a very dirty guest who left the apartment in a terrible condition after himself with some food lefts and dishes unwashed and so on. But Cory managed the problem really quickly so after a walk we returned into a tidy flat.
The apartment is situated in central part of Cowloon near the metro station. Lots of shops and cafes are nearby, but the district itself is rather noisy and busy. Also there's a big garden near this place.
Also Cory was very flexible about check-out time and that was really good for us, because our plane was scheduled late at the evening.
I stayed in Cory's place for two weeks with my wife and daughter while we explored HK. The location is absolutely perfect. The apt. is comfortable with great views and a pleasant outdoor deck. Having a usable kitchen with grocery stores and vegetable markets nearby helped us save money and stay healthy. Recommended.
