The Space

Kitchen with basic cutlery, living room (with sleeping couch), small bathroom w. shower, 2 bedrooms facing the backyard where it's quiet. In one bedroom there's a double bed and in the other one there are two single beds. In the living room there's a foldout sleeping couch that accommodates two persons. You have wi-fi and there's parking space in front of the house.
- Check in/out time is negotiable in advance.

The apartm. is on the second floor, and we have very nice neighbours. There's a washing machine in the laundry room in the basement that you can use. - We do have access to a babycott, just ask and we'll see if its available.

We're right in the heart of Reykjavik, you see the main walking street from the kitchen window. It's here that you'll find the coffeehouses, bars, art galleries and designer-shops - all in walking distance. There's a supermarket just down the street, open 24/7.

A little bit further down you have the sea and there's a great walking path along it. The city's oldest swimming pool (Sundholl Reykjavikur) is just up the street, 3 min walking distance.

There are some nice gardens with in walking distance, the sculpture garden of Einar Jonsson by Freyjugata and Hljómskálagarðurinn by the pond. The National museum, the National gallery of Iceland and the Reykjavík art museum are in the center and in walking distance. More museums and gallery are close by.

If you wanna get out of the center then the main bus station is a minute and a half away, from where you can get almost anywhere you want. It's basically a great ap. at a great location - I love it myself.

  • Sóley was a wonderful host. She was very responsive when needed and had a sweet little apartment where I housed 4 of my film crew. The location was great, very close to the guy's favorite bar (The K Bar on Laugavegur), and had everything they needed. Highly recommended apartment for a good time in downtown Reykjavik.

  • My family's trip to Reykjavik was the first time we had ever used so we were not exactly sure what we were in for. However, Sóley was very communicative from the beginning and was extremely welcoming...even when we arrived at 7am. Since we visited over the holiday season and many stores/restaurants/bars were closed during this time, Sóley provided us with some basic food such as milk, bread, and cheese, which was greatly appreciated. She also provided towels and we were able to use all of her plates/cookware/utensils. Sóley's apartment is RIGHT off the main street in Reykjavik, so if you want to be close to everything that is happenin' in the city, this is where you want to stay. It is worth noting that the apartment and the surrounding area was still quiet and we had no problems with noise throughout our stay (even on NYE!). We even met some of Sóley's neighbors who were super kind in trying to help us figure out how to work the washing machine in the basement.

Thanks Sóley for making our first stay such a positive experience.

  • We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, conveniently-located apartment. It worked very well for our family, which included two adults and two children. It was great to have a full kitchen to make simple meals and Soley had kindly stocked the kitchen with some food essentials like bread, milk, etc. The apartment is just a few steps away from the main shopping street of Reykjavik. We easily booked tours with local companies for horseback riding and whale watching and were picked up at the Fosshotel Baron, which is just two-three blocks down the street. The apartment was cosy, clean, and very comfortable. If we are back in Iceland, we would love to stay there again. Solely was easy to reach and we had excellent communication during our booking and our stay. I highly recommend her apartment.

  • Perfectly situated Sóley's apartment is near the center but not right in the middle of all the tourism. All the basics were there especially the ample amounts of hot water. Sóley is very friendly, casual, and easy-going but organized and dependable. As Iceland can be expensive staying here was certainly cheaper than staying in a hotel during the summer high season. Both bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable mattresses.

I love people and our quirky ways of living life, how we're all the same when it all comes down to it. I studied psychology and got my B.A. from the Uni. here in Iceland. I've spent the last years working with autistic young men. In my 20's I traveled quiet a lot and did parts of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In the past few years I've come to appreciate Iceland more and enjoy traveling the island. Although I love the excitement of seeing new places and meeting new people, Reykjavík (my home city) is one of my favorite cities. It's easy to get around and the center is like a small village, were everyone pretty much knows each other. It's hip and trendy, I actually think it would fit in perfectly as a neighbourhood in NYC (witch also is one of my favorite cities). I'll be happy to help you make the most of your stay in Reykjavík so please don't hesitate to call on me while you're here.
