About This Listing
My apartment is located on the top two floors (no elevator/lift) of a quiet 4-story residential building, on a side street of the Prinsengracht canal, one bridge from the Anne Frank house. I offer an upstairs bedroom overlooking an inner courtyard.
EXCELLENT location: 15 - 20 minutes walking from Central Station Amsterdam. From Schiphol airport, approximately 1 hour from the time you land to when you arrive at my apt. (If you are travelling with a LARGE suitcase, please book somewhere else...)
2-night minimum booking.
Please check calendar for availability. I generally keep it up to date.
My apartment is a quiet and relaxing oasis, in the center of the best that Amsterdam has to offer.
My apartment is located on the top two floors (no elevator/lift) of a quiet 4-storey residential building, on a side street of the Prinsengracht canal, one bridge from the Anne Frank house.
I offer an upstairs bedroom overlooking an inner courtyard with a super comfortable double bed (NO kitchen facilities). The room is suitable for 1 or 2 people. There is also a hall leading into the bedroom with a wardrobe and extra cupboard for your things. The apartment entrance leads directly to the upstairs area where the room is, so when you come and go, you have your privacy. The room is small...and not suitable for guests with large suitcases(!) If you have a large suitcase, please book somewhere else...I would suggest somewhere in the Jordaan if possible.
Flexible check-in and check-out times in consultation. You can leave your bags in the apt. on your day of departure, and return to collect them when you are leaving Amsterdam: simply leave the keys, and close the door - it locks automatically. You can basically check-out whenever you want. I only ask that the room is available around 12:00 on your day of departure so that I can prepare it for the next guests.
I would also like to mention that I have a dog, who stays downstairs with me.
You will receive further details (phone/address) and info on getting to my house, etc. after you have booked. The information is provided by Airbnb on your booking ITINERARY PAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read all the info.
Payment received for your accommodation includes all associated taxes. As of February 2015, Airbnb collects the 5.5 percent tourist tax for this listing separately.
Rental includes use of the upstairs bedroom and shared bathroom (no kitchen facilities), which I only use for showering. (I have an extra toilet on lower floor.) There are bathroom supplies available including a blow-dryer, shampoo/rinse, shower gel, cotton makeup-remover pads, and toothpaste. All linens and towels are provided, of course.
There are no kitchen facilities available with the room. There is a hot water cooker in the room to make tea or coffee/hot chocolate, and 'picnic' supplies for you including plastic plates and bowls, silverware, corkscrew, and napkins. I always put a pitcher of water, cups and glasses in room. There are lots of charming cafe's and restaurants for breakfast (Yum+ : Cafe Letting!!), lunch, and dinner directly available in my lovely neighborhood.
There is an outdoor sitting area downstairs on the back side of the apartment with a table and chairs, overlooking the inner courtyard. It is available at anytime, and has sun in the late afternoon...when we have sun!
Interaction with Guests
I spend most of my time on the lower floor, so the upstairs bedroom offers you privacy!
My home is in the Jordaan quarter, in the heart of Amsterdam, and one of the most picturesque parts of the city with its historical architecture, canals, and charming views. The Jordaan is known and enjoyed for its eclectic potpourri of shops, cafes, and galleries.
The central location is truly ideal and offers you Amsterdam at your doorstep. Almost all of the sites of Amsterdam are within easy and scenic walking distance.
On Mondays until 13:00 (with Flea Market) and Saturdays until 16:00 (with Farmer's Market), there are outdoor street markets just around the corner from my house, and they shouldn't be missed! Both markets offer interesting wares, some great people-watching, and a chance to experience local life firsthand!
Public transportation is easily accessible (within a few blocks), and my home is a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station.
Respectful and quiet. You can of course, come and go as you please.
Please treat the apartment with care, and keep in mind that you have neighbors.
The apartment is a regular home in a quiet residential building. It is not an after-hours club - so no parties, no loud music, etc.

Wat een heerlijk verblijf bij Carolyn. Spontaan ontvangst, alles was prima in orde. Tot in de kleinste details een verwennerij. Van chocolaatjes, tot picknickgerief, van shampoo en doucheproducten tot een fantastisch bed. Een echt vakantiegevoel met een zeer persoonlijk thuisgevoel.
Amsterdam was top!
Dank je wel Carolyn voor dit mooie verblijf
We were made to feel SO WELCOME here. Carolyn was super friendly and would say hi if she was home when we were coming home or leaving and just check in with us. Gave us great suggestions, let us print out a ticket to a museum and at the same time we had tons of privacy. A+ experience all around.
Carolyn was very welcoming and a great host. Checking in was a breeze and we were quickly settled. Carolyn provided recommendations for restaurants and attractions - all of which that we tried were great. The room was clean and comfortable. All of the essentials and more were provided. The neighbourhood was our favourite area in Amsterdam - it was beautiful, safe, and authentic. It was within walking distance to most attractions and the tram is easily accessible for anything further away. We would stay here again if we get the chance to come back to Amsterdam.
Carolyn is an amazing person! Kind, friendly, attentive. We had late check-in and there were no problems. Very comfortable and clean room in the heart of Amsterdam. Close to Central Station, Anna Frank Museum and etc. Strongly recommend!
Carolyn was an amazing host! The room is exactly as described (very comfortable bed!), very clean and cozy, bathroom super clean! Building and neighborhood are generally quiet, so you can sleep tight and rest. Jordaan is a lovely area to be situated in Amsterdam, a lot of beautiful shops and cafes, very central.
Carolyn was very helpful, informative, quiet and pleasant to talk to. We enjoyed our stay with her a lot so I cannot do less but warmly recommend staying with her in Amsterdam!
Carolyn was an awesome host! I would definitely recommend to stay at hers, I might even come back myself!
The neighborhood was safe and was at a nice location - just nice, not too busy and not deserted either. Perfect if you're planning to walk or cycle around Amsterdam.
She provided me with everything I needed and was super friendly :)
